Ya'll are doing something right up there!!!!

Post by BobcatBuiltTexan » Tue Nov 11, 2025 10:02 am

I was talking to Jhase's father yesterday to get his take on the game.....

He said that his family had a great time at the game and said that everyone needs to go to at least one MSU game because it is a whole vibe up there. It was him, his wife, mother, and step dad. It was his mom's(Jhase's grandmother) first time going to a home game, she was very impressed. He said that she just kept saying how much fun she was having. Her highlight, other than watching her grandson play on his birthday, was the rodeo team run out. His dad has horses and her late husband (Jhase's grandfather) was a country boy so the horses and the ride out just really made her happy. He went on to say that he was approached and hugged by several fans thanking him for allowing Jhase to come here and they love watching him play. They were really humbled by the appreciation and love they were shown by random people. He went on to say that he was so appreciative of how the coaches, MT players, and the city are taking care of him being so far away from home. Jhase really enjoys being in Bozeman.

The McMillans are friends with the Boyds and he said that they had a very similar experience. It was their first time going to a home game as well. Kory's road has been a little more difficult because of injuries, but he said that they way the coaches reach out to him and his wife to update them and talk with them about Kory's progress is really appreciated. He also said that Kory feels the support from the community and they appreciate everyone making him feel at home.

I asked Mr. McMillan if it was ok for me to share his thoughts on this board and he was cool with it. So whatever ya'll are doing up there at least two out of staters are really happy with the program and their treatment. Keep up the great work Bozeman and MSU fans it is evidently very much appreciated by the families of players.

Good to hear! We usually attend one or two away games every year and it's always a reminder of how great the overall gameday experience is at MSU right now compared to other places.

We go to church up the road from where Jhase went to high school. His folks are welcome to attend the Houston watch party if they aren't in Missoula for the Cat-Griz game. The year that Dru Polidore transferred to MSU, his folks, also from Katy, TX, attended the Houston watch party. I got to see his mom again at the national championship Ford Center Sunday night event (she didn't mention he was planning to enter the portal).

I will let them know, but I don't see them coming. Their oldest son plays at HCU and its SR day same day as the Cat-Griz game. I'll let them know though....I'm sure they will appreciate it.

Love the “it’s a whole vibe” remark. So accurate

I'm gathering that
I mean, it's nothing like what you'd see at most of the SEC schools, but it's easily top 5 in the FCS, and is likely better than most of the G5 FBS atmospheres. Truly a unique experience.

I noticed them, they were right on the edge of the player comp section in 113. I walked right past them on the way out at halftime, but didn't realize it was their first ever Bobcat Football game. For their sake, I'm glad it was a nice sunny day; been to plenty of games at Bobcat Stadium in November, last Saturday was one of the nicest I can recall...

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

It wasn't their first game....they came to Cat-Griz last year and his father and brother went to the semi-finals game last year. It was his grandmother's first game, they did come to the spring game, but they said it was nothing like the actual game. They just wished it wasn't so far from home or they would come more often. His dad said it's roughly a 3k trip with airfare, hotel, food, and uber rides to get around. Couple that with their oldest son playing as well, it's hard on families to support their kid. But they still are pleased with their son's decision and he seemed very genuine when he said that it means a lot he doesn't have to worry about his son because of how well he is taken care of up there. Ya'll got a great program by all accounts, keep up the great work!!!
