Reasons to cheer for the gris:
Having them be ranked as high as possible when we play would be the best for our last impression on the playoff committee.

Seeing sac completely fail after everything that clown car of a program has pulled the last year and a half has brought me great schadenfreude. Seeing that continue would be very funny.

Reasons to cheer for sac:
FTG

I'm not really sure what to do here....

He is trying to hype up their fan base, but that's an interesting way to do it. Heck, they had to have a big concert after the game with UNC to get 20K people in there yesterday. I can't wait to see how they survive as an FCS independent. They currently have three games scheduled for next season. Good luck to them.
I think Sac will be someone the Cats can get to come to Bozeman without a home and home fairly often. I’d be all for Sac coming to Bozeman every three/four years.

I think it would be funny if no FCS schools were willing to schedule them or make them pay to come to your place. They have wrecked a lot of relationships so it will be interesting to see who works with them.

The thing about rooting for total failure… A D1s athletic program is a multimillion dollar operation. It employs a swath of people that provides a living for their families along with educational opportunities for its athletes. Sure if this endeavor fails catastrophically they can probably come back to the BSC. I mean they let SUU back. But there will be consequences that the Sac program could take a decade to overcome. People will lose their livelihoods. Ambition is great but being measured in its implementation is important. It sure looks like this guys ego is running things, not his brain.

12 game seasons now and they have to schedule all the games with non conference opponents. I know MSU and most other schools struggle just scheduling 3 or 4 non conference games. I am interested to see how Sac schedules games against the JV league. I hope they have some cash to spend to get teams to come in there or figure out how to do a lot of home and home games.

Man. I will never root for the Griz. But that guy, along with pretty much everything sac state has done and said, makes me want to root against them. Can both teams lose Friday night please?
That would be ideal. Double dose of schadenfreude.

I’ve been a Bobcat fan for decades and don’t ever remember even remotely wishing the griz would win, but at this moment, I am leaning that way, and I don’t know how to deal with it. That was true even before listening to this.

I'd love to see the Griz show up in panda onesies and beat them by 40. Hopefully this guy is better at handling the academic side of the university than he has been with athletics.

If Sac State wins, how much will the Panda name take off for our neighbors to the west?

That's just amazingly bad form. Hauck will undoubtedly run up the score now. Griz will roll. Wow, just wow.

Sometimes there's a fine line between being confident and being an ass

This was not one of those times.

I will never, ever hope for a Griz win unless it's something the undoubtedly helps the Cats. This isn't one of those times. We don't know exactly how things are going to play out. There are some scenarios where we want the Griz ranked as high as possible when we beat them in Missoula, but there are scenarios where we do not. Stingers up.

Sometimes this bulletin board stuff matters in game outcome, but most of the time I think its pretty overblown. If your football team needs this sort crap to get up for the game I question your coaching staff and the culture of the locker room.

The times when it matters is if a really good team is playing a lesser opponent and that opponent starts running their mouths. The good team would have just been business as usual but now they want to make a statement (think when OK St ran their mouths about Oregon prior to their matchup).
Not sure UM is THAT superior to Sac. Maybe the gris have some extra motivation but the Sac St team will as well. Ranked opponent, national tv, all those highly regarded transfers will want to put out good tape for their next portal entry.

100%. Might have to retire gris if that happens.

Dang, maybe I'm the oddball here but I just didn't see any big deal about what he said, other than it would probably be more appropriate for
it to be coming from the mouth of their AD rather than their prez. Maybe it's because I still remember so many times when Bobby Hauck's classless behavior was off the charts. Go Sac State! beat the hell outta the Pandas!

It would probably be more appropriate for it to be coming from the mouth of a drunk fan, not anyone in a professional capacity. I understand it's a glorified community college but you would think someone in charge there would be embarrassed. At this point you almost have to assume this is the culture that everyone wants.

Id like to see Sac President Wood go full Trump and attack Bodner.

“You know, folks, I’ve been hearing a lot about this so-called President Boner, or as i like to call him, Tiny Boner of the Montana Pandas. Terrible leader, just terrible. They say he’s very weak and flaccid. Can’t make a decision without ten people telling him what to do. A lot of people are telling me, ‘Sir, President Tiny Boner doesn’t want to debate you, he’s too scared and soft!’ And I said, of course he’s scared because when President Strong, Giant Wood shows up, he knows what happens. And even his wife, who ive heard is a Bobcat, knows what happens. Do you believe that….Tiny Boner’s wife is a Bobcat. Believe me. Those Tiny Boner pandas are total disaster, folks. Absolutely no energy. ”
