I watched a decent amount of Mercyhurst's game against Sac State last week and was impressed by how hard they were playing and competing given the fairly obvious gap in talent between the two teams. MSU will beat them but it will still be a pretty competitive game.

Re: Mercyhurst Prediction Thread
52 - 7 for the Blue and Gold
The offense hits 320 yards rushing as the O-line starts really finding their groove, the TE’s account for 100 receiving yards, Taco sits on the sideline with a rest game while eating taco’s, Justin Lamson only rushes for 24 yards, takes no hits, and throws for 259 yards without Taco racking up numbers, and Jared White is in for the 2nd half of the game and rushes for 109 yards.
The D is on depth guys by 1 1/2 quarters in.

Re: Mercyhurst Prediction Thread
I in no way think Mercyhurst will come in and have the potential to win this game, but I don’t think it’s going to necessarily be a 40+ point win either.
MH competed better than Maine did last year and they are better this year. The Cats are still working out a lot of kinks and I expect this game to be more of the same.
I could see something like a 41-14 type final score, I just don’t think this is a 35-0 at halftime type game that is just over before it begins.

I agree. They are much better than last year. They have a lot of speed and gave SacSt fits. The back to back travel out west I think will be a factor for them. I predict a little closer game maybe 35-21.Catsrgrood wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 10:22 amI in no way think Mercyhurst will come in and have the potential to win this game, but I don’t think it’s going to necessarily be a 40+ point win either.

Sammy Akem says maybe two TD's but a surprisingly close game.
I think closer to...
Cats 45
Water Puddles 13

Re: Mercyhurst Prediction Thread
Last year it was a 52-13 game.
I’m at 42-21 this year.
MH is an improved team. They played Youngstown St tougher than I thought they would. Led Sac St for a time before Sac St pulled away in second half….and their QB is an effective passer for as small as he is….avg over 300 yards per game passing. And we are not at the same level as last years team was at this juncture of the season. I certainly don’t think MH wins but should be a more competitive game.

Re: Mercyhurst Prediction Thread
This is a good game for MSU. Bobcats are looking to get more out of the run game and SAC ran wild against them to the tune of 8.3 per carry (42-349 and 5 TDs). I think it'll be good for MSU's defense to get tested a little bit and the pass game is where Mercyhurst has shown the most improvement since last year.
