So…….whatever happened to the on-campus hotel that was to be constructed? Seems all that talk just faded away.
Isn't that what's being built by the parking garage? And if not what is being built by the parking garage?

I meant of the new Gianforte facility. I was joking with you. I should've been a little more clear.

I know what you meant, click on the link to see two pics of the new computer facility under construction. The pics are about halfway down the page.

I don't know if anyone is interested in this stuff. I have a rather large collection of old Bobcat programs. This 1974 program had a story about the dedication of Reno H. Sales Stadium. The stadium was dedicated on 28 Sept 1974, although they played games there in 1973. Anyway, I kind of liked the old photos and I thought I'd share them here. I'm sure most of you know, the only part of the old Reno H. Sales stadium that is still in existence is the East grandstand. The West grandstand is now at Carroll College and the rest is probably in a landfill somewhere.

Before the renovation in 97, were there bleachers in the north end zone? As a kid I feel like I remember them but can’t find any pictures to back it up. I remember the bandshell in the back SE corner.

Here’s a photo of the north end zone c1997. The original Sales stadium locker rooms can be seen behind those stands, except they didn’t have lockers, just a meeting area for teams before, during and after the game with chalkboards, chairs and restroom facilities.

Look at the video of the 1984 Rhode Island game, the bleachers are in both end zones.

Drake (FCS - IA): Cam Gardner, former offensive analyst at Montana State (FCS), has been tabbed as the new running backs coach.

Mark Orphey also on that list, going from Rutgers to Texas.

Good for Cam. He'll be coming back to MSU as a visitor.

I had forgotten Orphey.....good for him. Also, great to see Cam carving out a career.

I was looking at some stuff on the 1956 team and I came across Dave Alt's name, so I searched to see where he was now. I can't remember seeing this posted on BN, but Dave passed away in December.

I seem to recall that, but I don't see it anywhere on here. He's way out in Michigan, so maybe the news didn't work its way to BN. I'm going to keep looking and maybe it was on the MSU sports website.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I just sent the obituary to Bill Lamberty, just in case they didn't know.

I can attest that there were bleachers in the north end zone, I was sitting there when Roberts took this to the house.....heck, I even called it.

BUT, the big thing that is missing is the huge sausage frying griddle that was located near the grassy knoll/beer gardens. Beautifully fried brats, not the boiled things that are available today. It didn't matter where you sat in the stadium, if there was a swirling wind, you could smell them cooking.

Used to be very biased towards aau competitors. Not sure if that’s still the case.
