I believe Choate helped fund the fueling station out of his own pocket when it first started up.

I read a different story recently.

Choate used money that Ash had used for a Black Bull membership to pay for the fueling station.

Choate said "if I want a golf membership I will pay for it myself."

Thanks, a more detailed description. The golf membership dues were part of Choates contract salary and compensation package. He had the dues fee go to the fueling station instead.

It's much more sensationalized to imply ash was using money improperly for the membership though. You make it sound so... boring.
