I assume the poster is referring to the facts that they... beat Idaho yet we fell a millimeter short. They barely beat NDSU in OT whereas we barely lost to them in OT. They beat another team barely (Furman) and we lost to a different team barely (SDSU). They certainly got it done in terms of the Brawl this year and we did not. They are going to Frisco and we are not.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 2:52 pmWhat have they done.?cowgirlcat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:37 amUGH! Yes this all still sucks, I'm still pissed... That is a whole lot of getting it done this year for UM and a lot of damn near getting it done for the Cats. Let them (The Griz team, and very few select fans that I'm friends with) enjoy this year. All the stars lined up for them perfectly this season in terms of the schedule, playoffs, hitting teams at the right time, injuries, officiating, lucky bounces, etc. I am not taking anything away from their season, yes it took some lucky bounces and breaks for them to be playing in Frisco but all that aside, they got it done and are going to Frisco. Next year will be a completely different story line, perhaps a role reversal, IMO.

I suppose that makes sense. I was maybe reading more into it. And thinking poster was comparing last couple years and beating NDSU We essentially did the same thing they have in 2021. Won at home vs a DSU to go to championship. If they get beat they will have done exactly what we did.catatac wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:15 pmI assume the poster is referring to the facts that they... beat Idaho yet we fell a millimeter short. Before the start of this season, we had literally the HARDEST schedule in the Big Sky!!!! That is without any question, even with my Griz buddies.
As the season went on, all of our "tough" teams ended up being terrible and all of our neighbor's teams ended up being solid and way more easy than they should be.
Griz are way better than anyone is giving them credit for and their schedule looks better than ours next year

Re: Do other Bobcat fans
The choice is pretty simple for me. I have family ties and had football interest from South Dakota State even though I grew up in Montana. I will be pulling for the jackrabbits.
I have had friends and kids of friends play in Missoula county over the years. Never graduated from Montana State even though I had outside involvement in the college of agriculture. I have lived in Bozeman for decades and watched it change. I am Bobcat blue and gold through and through. As someone said, I will cheer as hard For the school in Missoula county, their coach would cheer for us . I will wish my friends well, and congratulate them as they travel to support their team in Texas. I will continue to stop alongside the road if they need help changing a flat tire.
Not gonna dwell on it too much but that loss in Missoula cost the city of Bozeman, MSU,and the Gallatin Valley millions of dollars,. It cost ,more than likely, players entering the portal that may have stayed.
Coaching staff was not prepared nor did they have the players prepared for that game.
We will be fine next year. Go Cats!
Onward and upward. Excited for next season.

Sebastian, Rush, and Omar all received significant NIL money. Significant meaning more than what our head coach gets paid at a base salary.kwcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:20 pmThe choice is pretty simple for me. Did that loss in Missoula hurt the Cats more than the absolute beat down in Bozeman the year prior, after CGD, hurt the Griz? Just wondering your opinion.kwcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:20 pmThe choice is pretty simple for me. Catatac sums up my thoughts well, a few others to add to the list would be Big Sky champs, tackled well, several special teams highlights (seems like our KR and PR was very average this year), and from what I saw their place kicker performed well.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:31 pmI suppose that makes sense. Re: Do other Bobcat fans
Yep and thanks for clarification. I was thinking you were comparing past season and not this one. I thought KR was okay but limited chances. Early many teams were able to kick into ez. PR much better after Dowler back. MCCulloch showed explosiveness but errors. Most games our offense played well enough that we didn't take many chances with returns.cowgirlcat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 6:50 amCatatac sums up my thoughts well, a few others to add to the list would be Big Sky champs, tackled well, several special teams highlights (seems like our KR and PR was very average this year), and from what I saw their place kicker performed well.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:31 pmI suppose that makes sense. Their kicker was avg. Missed several in playoffs just over 45 because he was short on attempt. XP strong though
