Like I said earlier, we agree. It sounds like you have a problem with my tone more than anything. I'm approaching this from the standpoint that, as close follower of football in the state of Montana, I feel the 'Cats can not only contend with the Griz, they could very well blow their asses so far out of Wa/Griz stadium that Bobby and the rest of the boys will need passports to get back to Missoula.

So, yeah, I find a little more to get fired up about when I feel my team isn't getting it's proper respect. On the flipside, you can rightly play "joe cool" whilst enjoying a gratis #2 overall ranking and the pick as Sky favorites; although personally I think the griz are one of the weakest teams in the top-10.

If Swogger plays like he did at wazzu then I really won't ever understand what all the fuss was about. If he plays like a guy who just rearranged his whole life to transfer into a strikingly-oddball new system with all new, less talented teammates, all after riding the pine for a season-and-a-half, then things are probably going to be worse for you guys than I think.

Can you imagine the friggin brushfire that will engulf eGriz next year when another Sky team is ranked higher in the preseason? You think I'm bad? I hope you set those zealots over there as straight as you just tried to set me.

Now leave me alone, I've got lollygagging to do. I'm a lollygagger.

I don't think so, WSU lost perhaps the best O-Line in the BSC last year and all I can remember is what happened to NAU when that happened to them after Murrietta's sensational '03 season. They also lost three pretty good WR's and their two best RB's(Sanchez/Williams).
I agree, they lost the twins on the OL (both went NFL).
What also isn't noticed is they had some very good DBs (Safeties and CBs). 4 or 5 of theses are gone with Fosmark.

I like the coach, but uphill battle and replacing those guys.

Ohh, so now we get to the bottom of your dislike for polls/rankings. You complain about them telling us all the obvious, instead of just saying you disagree with where your team is ranked. Heck, why not just say so, instead of blasting the system that has been in place for as long as I can remember.
And while you are disagreeing with where Matt has the cats ranked, why not explain why the cats should be higher when they lost their top 6 players in receiving yards and the guy who has been chucking the rock for the past 4 years.

I don’t have a problem with the polls, I-AA or I-A, but I do have a problem with the source acting a little to ‘know-all’ about what they’re saying. If they really had access to good information (Doherty probably has the best access and is the most knowledgeable) then it’d be easier to swallow there so-called expertise. For instance, they’re right to say UM will win the BSC, but their explanation reveals their lack of knowledge about the BSC. UM may be picked to win, but it isn’t a slam dunk as it was in the Dickenson, Ah-Yat, Miller, Edwards years. From Edwards senior year until now, the league has found a lot more balance.

Point taken on some acting like know-it-alls. There is a lot of that that goes around when it comes to football, polls, and even on very message boards we post on.
The people putting out the rankings have to act like they know something, otherwise they would probably be out of a job.
I personally just look at the ranking/polls and then pretty much forget about them until we get into the season, then I can refer to them to see how accurate they are. Nobody in their right mind pays much attention to them. They are something to pass 5 minutes of looking at, and a couple hours talking about so we can get thru the off season with some sanity.
I'm starting to twitch around with withdrawls.

Jah, look man, it's just my opinion. Am I entitled to that? One of the functions of an internet forum is to express ideas and opinions.. inflammatory or otherwise. I would think that since you're one of the most notorious (reformed) trolls in the history of BN, you would back me up on that.

Crazy seems to have summed the whole misunderstanding up in a way that you can live with, so I am more than content to cut my losses and pack this one in.

Good sleuthwork figuring out that I'm a 'Cat fan, by the way. =D^ You're quite the Columbo... lazy eye and all.

Oh yeah, why do I think the 'Cats will be so good? The same reason you think the Griz will be good. Among the 'Cat players, returning and new, I see the promise of greatness and the potential to realize it. I could get into 40yd/ 100m times; helmet, hand, and shoe sizes; Wunderlic scores; genetic constitution; strengh to speed amalgamation ratios (compounded, of course); and so on... but I already go over this in my self-published "Big Sky Digest '06", so go out and buy your copy today at www.deliciouswallawallaonions.com!

You are entitled to your opinion, and you display it in an entertaining way, even if it seems to be coated with a bit of sugar.
