From the bid sheet:

Time of Completion
Bidder agrees to commence work immediately upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and
to substantially complete the project AUGUST 1, 2023.
🤣🤣🤣
Laugh all you want, Tony will have it up and running by Gold Rush.
Less than 2 months to complete it seems a bit optimistic. But, hey, I want to be pleasantly surprised.
Why only two months? The first game isn’t until Sept 2.
Substantial completion is 2 months. That allows some time to work out any bugs and finish punch list items before the first game.

There can't be that much work to do the install. The hard part is getting the video board in the first place.

The new scoreboard will be up in time. However, there is a backup plan.

The bid sheet makes it look like it's some foundation work, two pylons (the two pylons for the current board are not being removed), some catwalks, electrical, and installing it. That really doesn't seem like that much work from a construction standpoint, but tbf I know nothing on the subject

I don’t disagree… getting it in, getting it up, dialing it in…debugging…in…can happen, but I think it’s optimistic. JMO

No, that’s not what I’m laughing at. Just the opposite actually.

There is quite a bit of steel fabrication involved. I am assuming some outfit like Roscoe Steel in Billings will do that portion including painting those portions. Someone has to take the engineers drawings and turn those into shop or construction drawings. From those drawings they can start cutting pieces to weld or bolt together. All of these steps take time and usually you get to wait in line unless you paid extra to jump a spot in line. On the good side while all this is going on the electrical conduit can be run while waiting for the gear to show up as well as excavation and helical pier installation. Just my 2 cents on the project.

Time for some bright person to start a videoboard/steel fabrication company. Your one-stop-shop for all your massive video board construction needs 😉

One would guess the board is already made and ready to ship. These huge scoreboards come in numerous video board pieces that get put together like a puzzle.

You sure on the size of this new board? 102 x 40 would put it in the top 15 of Division 1 teams.

Extra credit, the Ducks just surpassed Auburn with the largest board at 186' x 66'

Per the bid specs the 102 x 40 is correct....

Yeah, the title of this thread is incorrect. The video board is already built. This bid is for the infrastructure to support the board.

Looking close at the bid documents. 102' by 40 ' is the total. I think the height of the actual video portion to be 30 feet tall. Each side has a 33 foot section, on the left the plans show the "BOBCAT" on the right "STADIUM" in between those is a section 36 feet wide with the Bobcat Logo. Just my interpretation of the contract documents.

That’s fair… either way it’s going to be HUGE and ready to go by Gold Rush.

What were the dimensions of the old scoreboard? And video screen?
