Lowkey positive for our defense?
There's definitely a strong narrative that this could be a good thing.
Hopefully will light a fire and be more galvanizing than distracting.
Ideally, Bobby can bring the best of Garza, Banks, Ioane, Gregorak...etc. Also, any defensive tendancies that we've shown on tape are basically out the window.

maybe now the D can play tighter in pass coverage instead of 10 yards off the receiver everytime.

Timing of this is really suspicious. It's a bad look. Kinda feels like he'll be relieved of his duties soon

We all know how it worked out for the Bobcats when Matt McKay left. Keep the faith.

In addition to the narratives I listed, I also think our defense hasn't been great this year and were likely in need of a different leader in that room. I'm excited for Bobby and this opportunity.

Daly's an Upgrade IMO. Looking forward to Saturday.
I like Vigen's not afraid to make tough decisions.

WTF. He needs to be shown the door. After all the positive momentum we have, huge game Sat and our lackluster D play calling this year.

I think this could be a good thing. Daly knows this team better than any of the defensive coaches. Good luck Mr. Daly!

Ugh. Hard to make too many judgements without knowing the facts, but the red flags were there.
I assume Bobby Daly is next man up?
I have talked with him before. Seemed like a really nice guy. I'm sure this is probably a precautionary measure and all is good. GO Cats!

Reminds me of when Matt Miller took over as OC in 2019. Both Capital High guys. Both dads are Capital High guys. I'm a Capital High guy. Significance in descending order. Skipped straight to the bottom on that last one.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

If a coach gets suspended before a playoff game as a "precautionary measure", it usually means all is far from good. That means something bad is coming and we need to get ahead of it. I'd imagine he was on a short leash anyway. If he'd have done something to violate his contract, they would probably have fired him right now. My guess is he didn't, so they'll wait for him to finish it out and cut ties. Based on zero knowledge of the situation, just how I think it would be handled.

Next man up mentality I suppose. This is absolutely wild.

Hopefully the stadium is packed and loud. Our defense feeds off of this.

Another interesting question is if the defense plays well on Saturday, does Garza get to continue as DC when he returns from suspension or does Daly keep the job for the remainder of the playoffs?

Big problem all year has been communication between our db’s.
This is not going to help that now matter how good Daly may be.
