All Bobcat Punter Nominations
I believe I left out punters before moving on to return specialists. I'll start with Jared Padmos, King of the roll punt.

Padmos was CRIMINALLY underappreciated. Should have graduated with at least 3 years worth of 1st team All-Big Sky Conf honors.msufaithful wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 9:33 amJered Padmos 42.4 career average, 224 career punts, average return yards 3.68, 62 inside the 20 quite a few those inside the 5, 11 touchbacks, 44 punts over 50 yards. Re: All Bobcat Punter Nominations
Just one.
Dirk Nelson.
First punter inducted into Bobcat Hall of Fame.
Finished in the top 15 in punting average nationally for all three of his seasons at Montana State.
Just missed finishing the 1984 season with the top average in the nation.
His 43.4 yards-per-punt average in 1984 remains the sixth-best season in MSU history.
His average of 41.6 yards-per-punt in his career remains the third-best in MSU history.
Named to Montana State's All-Century Team.
Oh yeah – National Champion.

Re: All Bobcat Punter Nominations
The Lulay roll punt was a thing of beauty when executed well. He has the second longest punt ever (81 yards) and I'm sure at least 60 of them were on the roll!

Re: All Bobcat Punter Nominations
Yup I used the wrong one. Updated my post. Making a Top 10 should probably just consist of the 10 names in the career punting average. Top 5 would likely need to include Urza, Peot, Padmos, Nelson, and either Perez, Fisher, or Dodds.msufaithful wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:47 amFrom 2022 record bookVimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:39 amSame as the return specialists, I'm going to post Top 10 lists and all-conference/all-american accolades.

Re: All Bobcat Punter Nominations
It's crazy that the Bobcats had only 3 punters in the 2010s, and they were all incredible.

Can hardly believe that Mark Page is not on this list somewhere. Forgot Bergman was a punter. He was a really good WR if I remember correctly.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:39 amSame as the return specialists, I'm going to post Top 10 lists and all-conference/all-american accolades.

Jered Padmos sticks out in my mind for being able to stick the ball inside the 10 time after time. He didn't always hit the boomers (probably why he was not properly accredited or awarded), but he consistently rolled that baby into the corners and away from kick returners.

Yes Padmos was a good one! I also think the guy we have right now could end up on this list when its all said and done. He's got that potential.Helcat72 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 4:31 amJered Padmos sticks out in my mind for being able to stick the ball inside the 10 time after time. Re: All Bobcat Punter Nominations
Uzra was before I was born but his numbers say #1 to me.
From my remembrance of watching Bobcat football since the mid-1980s
Padmos
Peot
Perez
Lulay
Nelson
Lulay’s stats aren’t elite but there were some nice fakes from that formation as well because the opposing defense had to account for the QB also punting.
