Re: All Bobcat DE Vote
He was as good of an interior OL as I have seen here. I mentioned him in the Guard nominations. As far as guards go, him, Mateo Toilolo, and Kyle Godecke might be among my favorites.

Re: All Bobcat DE Vote
Top 20 - DE Rankings
1.) Mark Fellows (1981-1984) - 1984 AA 1st; sack season and career record holder at MSU; #3 in TFL's career; Shrine Game; 7th round draft pick (injury ended career); 2x All-Big Sky
2.) Brad Daly (2009-2013) - 2013 AA 1st; Buck winner; Shrine Game; 3x All-Big Sky; Top 5 Career Sacks; if his back held up, NFL would've found a spot for him
3.) Dane Fletcher (2006-2009) - 2009 AA 1st; signed with Patriots as a UDFA en route to a decent career; Top 5 in TFLs; 2x All-Big Sky
4.) Jon Montoya (2000-2003) 2000 and 2002 AA HM; 3x All-Big Sky; #2 All-time in TFLs; started all four years
5.) Caleb Schriebies (2009-2012) - 2012 AA 1st; Buck winner; Shrine Game; 2x All-Big Sky; forced a record 8 fumbles in 2012
6.) Gary Gustafson (1968-1970) 1970 AA 1st; 9th round draft pick; 2x All-Big Sky; no TFL or sack stat when playing; viewed as the guy that started the decades long tradition of dominant DE play at MSU
7.) Neal Smith (1994-1997) 1997 AA 1st; All-Big Sky; 2nd to Mark Fellows in career and season sacks
8.) Les Leininger (1973-1976) 1976 AA 1st; 1976 Title Game MVP; 2x All-Big Sky; no TFL or sack stat when playing
9.) Daniel Hardy (2018-2021) 2021 AA 2nd; All-Big Sky; 7th round draft pick; had Top 5 statistical seasons for TFLs and sacks in 2021
10.) Bryce Sterk (2018-2019) - 2019 AA 2nd; Shrine Game; 2x All-Big Sky; Bengals training camp
11.) Jason Hicks (1992-1995) 1993 AA 3rd; All-Big Sky; Top 10 in several categories
12.) Adam Cordeiro (2000-2003) 2001 AA HM; 3x All-Big Sky; switched to DT his senior year due to team need; Top 10 in about 8 categories that involve "wreaking havoc" in the backfield
13.) Brad Daws (1973-1975) 1975 AA HM; 2x All-Big Sky; no stats when he played but he, Les, and Rick Vancleeve arrived at the QB a lot
14.) Clete Linebarger (1982-1985) 3x All-Big Sky; caused 7 fumbles in his career
15.) Devlan Geddes (1993-1996) 1996 AA HM; 2x All-Big Sky
16.) Dennis Muhlbeier (1964-1967) 2x All-Big Sky
17.) Tex Sikora (1982-1985) All-Big Sky; Mark Fellows sack mate in the 80s; 29 sacks in his career
18.) Derek Marks (2016-2019) 2019 All-Big Sky; 4-year starter; played DT undersized; recovered back-to-back fumbles in successive Cat/Griz games; now a pastor
19.) Wade Rademacher (1990-1993) 1993 1st-Team All-Big Sky
20.) Greg Maurer (1970-1973) 1973 1st-Team All-Big Sky
Note that Fellows was technically a hybrid LB in that defense as were others on this list but these are most of the best "edge" defenders in MSU history.

Vim's list covers this topic, so this is somewhat related...
I'm wondering if Odin Coe ever achieved his goal of becoming a Navy Seal (suppose we wouldn't know if he did)? Thought that was always an interesting story.

Re: All Bobcat DE Vote
Was John Taylor a DE or DT? If DE, I think he also deserves a mention on this list. I believe he was actually a late round draft pick, or maybe he just signed a free agent deal. I know he got a look in the NFL though. Fellows was a no-brainer as my first choice, but for the 2nd one, I had a really hard time choosing among Daly, Fletcher, Schriebies Hardy, and Sterk.

I think he came to msu as a TE in '97. Was moved to DE played great and then was moved to DT to get our best 4 on the DL.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 7:43 pmDTJohn K wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 6:53 pmWas John Taylor a DE or DT? That was a long time ago and lots of mind altering pathogens were being ingested, so I could be wrong on that.

Was All-American and All-Big Sky in his breakout senior year as a DT. John is a phenomenal human!wbtfg wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 8:04 pmI think he came to msu as a TE in '97. Dang there is some amazing players in this group. But I had to choose Fellows and Cordeiro.

Re: All Bobcat DE Vote
That #2 DE is really just pick a favorite because most of their accolades and impact match up with one another. I went Fellows and Montoya because Jon was a four year starter who impacted every game he played in his four years. A true iron-man at the position.

Re: All Bobcat DE Vote
If Brad Daly's back had held up I feel like he could've made an impact in the NFL. Some plays his last year I felt like his teammates had to pick him up and carry him off the field but he just kept coming back in for the next series. Serious toughness there.
