TV Schedule

Post by catfisherman » Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:33 pm

Does anyone know what the tv schedule is going to be for the non conference games? I assume all conference games will be on ESPN+ or over the air local Montana channels.

I assume the two home games will be aired as part of the new tv deal. The Oregon State game is on the PAC-12 network and that will probably be the only way to watch it.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Both home OOC games will be on SWX stations. The channels that carried the games last year.

Sweet! So the only one I won't be able to DVR is Oregon State. 8)

So does ESPN + just pick up the local feed or do they bring their own cameras and commentators?

Not necessarily. Will be on in parts of Idaho and Eastern Washington, I believe.

Well, maybe not tv TV, but they’ll both be streamed (ESPN+, PAC-12 NOW) and can be picked up on WiFi or cellular by most smartphones or tablet. The stream can then be easily displayed on nearly any TV monitor. That’s how we watch them. ESPN+ is like $6.99 for a month — a great deal. And I’ve watched many games on the PAC-12 app. It’s free. So the original TV signal can be viewed on a TV monitor. Smart TVs can do it all by themselves.

This indicates that the first two games are not on ESPN+, but ESPN indicates they will be on.

The schedule at the bottom doesn't show ESPN+ but right above that at the end of the story is this:
All Bobcat home games and Big Sky contests (except the UC Davis tilt) stream on ESPN+, while the Oregon State game streams on the Pac 12 Now app.
I'm pretty sure those two home non-conference ones will also be on ESPN+. Now whether it will get to be the same feed on ESPN+ as the TV feed (which I have been told will be the case for the conference MTN produced games) may be another story not sure on that.

MTN Sports announces Bobcat football broadcast team
Ashley Washburn will provide sideline coverage for all Bobcat football games this season with former MSU coach Ty Gregorak adding color commentary. Gregorak, the longtime defensive football coach at both Montana and Montana State, has also filled in as a TV analyst on ROOT Sports. The two are joined in the booth by Ben Creighton, who will provide play-by-play. Creighton has been a play-by-play broadcaster for ESPN+ and Pac-12 Networks. Tom Wylie, Sports Director at KRTV, will round out the team.

So Gregorak and this guy Ben Creighton are going to replace Chris Byers and Mike Callaghan, who have been doing it for... how long? Feel a little bad for those guys. Also no Alex Eschelman on the sidelines now.

They work for SWX not MTN.

So is SWX doing McNeese and Morehead, with the SWX crew, and then the non-ESPN network games are MTN?
