Booked 2 at the Microtel for $182/night. There were like 2 cheaper in Bozeman that night, but O my god some of the rooms that night were ridiculous. $800/night at the element, um no thanks. Most were around the $300-$500/night, still ridiculous.
I booked three rooms over the pass for $75 a piece.

I'm sure I will be turnt up and didn't want to risk it. Plus I will have the wife and little kid, and she will be less than impressed with me at that time of night. The last thing she will want to do is drive to Livingston. It will take all my magic just to get her to drive me and the fam to the Microtel. I guess I could refrain from having too much fun, but its tough man when its a night game, under the lights, etc. :D

Wasn't the Weber game on a Friday night last year? A Saturday night game is a big upgrade, TV-wise. Sure nobody on the east coast will be awake to watch it, but that's fine. We'll probably be competing with a second-tier Pac-12 game and maybe some sh!tbird MWC game. I know I've sat there on a Saturday night and just watched whatever game was on, regardless of whether it was any good or not.

Frakin night game.

Oh boy, as Jeff Choate would say the fans are gonna be full throat by 8:15, and then some...
We're gonna have some fans that are unconscious by 8:15. Somebody's gonna tailgate for a full 12 hours and it can't be me.
I didn't originally see the time. As much as I like night games that's a late one.
Yep, this sucks big time!
National TV coverage on Friday night in PRIMETIME. Suck it up and make plans right now. The exposure is something that only a handful of FCS teams (and even G5 teams) get an opportunity for. If UC Davis could beat South Dakota State and come in with a 3-1 record, this would a top 10 nationally televised contest.
Many group of five teams play at 8pm on Saturday nights on major cable channels. This would be entirely different if it were at 5 or 6. But, half the country will be asleep by kickoff. Davis wont beat SDSU so that point is moot. Thanks for the advice dad, I will just suck it up. Ha!

Hating the griz since 02.

Those G5 games on Saturday night are almost all on regional cable networks or limited viewing networks like Fox Sports Net. They feature the likes of Toledo or UNLV or San Jose State. Very few get an opportunity for NATIONAL coverage on ESPN2. Davis will probably be 2-2 with losses to SDSU and Cal, but they might still be ranked.

Your lack of enthusiasm is puzzling. This is great exposure for MSU and virtually every post has been positive. MSU will be on TV’s all across the western US. A kid looking at going to MSU or UNLV will be impressed with the national exposure. Maybe you should ask the question, “are the benefits to MSU football greater than your inconvenience”?

8:15 is late but at least it isn't a 9pm start like the gris @ Sac St on 10/22. I can't see anyone outside of their fanbases watching that one.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

You must not know any gambling degens then. All jokes aside I love Pac 12 or MWC after dark games. Living in Helena is common for me to get back from the Cat games just in time for kickoff of those games.

Yeah I tend to agree. It'll be the only game on in a lot of places. If you're sitting in a sports bar in NYC late at night, that game will be on. There will be tons of people mindlessly watching games late at night because they just want to see a game still. I know because I'm one of those people on a lot of Saturdays in the fall. I'd bet this game has more eyes on it than any gris game in a decade.

We're in a good place as a program when there is any complaints on a Saturday night game aired on ESPN2 nationally

Could be worse! Could be on TV at the red rag. Or at Sacramento state.

It’s great walking into a run-of-the-mill sports bar in other parts of the country and seeing the Cats on TV.

Decades of highlight? Typical click bate and weak ass journalism. Sulser’s family is great and he is a good kid, his older brother is one solid dude, but seriously with journalism now. It’s laughable, decade of highlights. =D^

And Sulser left Missoula 100% due to Babby Bobby, that comes directly from the horses mouth. There is no second hand on that at all.

I don't mind it. It's A decade of highlights, not decades. And when you go all the way back to his little league team, which we were following closely all over Montana, then on to high school and then college, it's legitimately a decade of highlights for him.

I agree with you. I think it is a good article. I wish Gabe all the best.
