So not just total numbers, but weighted for greatness.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Like Dickenson and Andersen are 15s on a scale of 1-10.

Who do you think are the five best native Montanans to play for UM and MSU?

Troy Andersen
Dane Fletcher
Kane Ioane
Don Haas

UM:
Dan Carpenter

I realize there's another thread for this but in your top 5 I've gotta think someone would need to be removed for Sonny Holland and Colt Andersen. Who? I have no idea. Just food for thought though

For Montana I would add Brian Salonen. Great TE in the Big Sky and went on to play with the Cowboys for a few years on special teams and a back up tight end. One of the all time great GF High Bison in football and basketball.

Toss up between him and Spencer Frederick. Spence had his pro career cut short after he tore up his knee during a preseason game.

There's the truth, and then there's what's reported in the papers.

I think Cory Widmer belongs on this list. In addition to being a great Bobcat he played 8 seasons in the NFL for the Giants.

Corey may well disagree with me. He suffers numerous health issues he attributes to football concussions.
