I think it would be easier to make the spring game into a “big event” if it wasn't snowing during our spring game. Then again, after the winter we had we need all the moisture we can get.

Re: Spring Ball 2022
That's got to be one of the shorter OLs we've had in a while, also only one 300 pounder...

Re: Spring Ball 2022
I would still like to see 1 big/experienced OL transfer and 1 big/experienced DL transfer…. Then I will be a happy camper with this squad going into fall.
Selfishly I’m still pissed that TJ sessions and Connor wood left…. The OL would look WAAAAAY different going into fall….

Re: Spring Ball 2022
I realize that Cole Sain was injured, but he was pencilled to start last year until the injury. I also recall he either started or had significant playing time as a freshman with the Griz. Now he can’t crack our starting which is filled with Sophs and Freshman. Is he battling an injury still?

I love only 8 starters as seniors. Lots of depth.

As a running/option QB back in my day, I preferred smaller/faster lineman. Granted I wasn't going against DLs like MSU will see.

Re: Spring Ball 2022
For what it's worth, came away from the spring game much more concerned about our defensive line depth...specifically on the edges then our offensive line. They are good run blockers and the passing blocking breakdowns mostly happened due to miscommunication instead of getting beat one on one. They are a talented group of young men and will only get better during the year. That being said, an offensive tackle transfer will likely happen before end of June alomg with another one or two defensive lineman, a wide receiver, and possibly linebacker.

Thanks VIM. I have no doubt this group will be good, and possibly great. I know Vigen and the rest of the coaching staff focus on it and know it's important. However, I know I'm dreaming here but it would be nice if it was THE absolute #1 area of focus, with dominant 300 plus pound skilled road graders twelve deep. IMO that is the only way we'll be able to compete against NDSU. I hope I'm wrong.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 9:45 pmFor what it's worth, came away from the spring game much more concerned about our defensive line depth...specifically on the edges then our offensive line. Re: Spring Ball 2022
SDSU had more all MVFC OL than NDSU. I’ve heard from several people that MSU’s coaches like the OL. It’s rare to find huge, quick OL with good endurance. OL coaches I know prefer quick OL with good footwork that can sustain their level of play into the fourth quarter over simply huge OL.catatac wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 10:58 amThanks VIM.
