Started out rising the ranks pretty well, then got in trouble. Then got back into it, climbed the ranks again, and got into trouble again.AFCAT wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:02 pmWent to the "Move every couple of years school" that Choate went to.coloradocat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 2:45 pmJust saw that. Vigen's going to have to keep his eye on him but seems like a good hire on the field.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:09 pmStarted out rising the ranks pretty well, then got in trouble. Just don’t drink and drive is really it. The recruiting thing is a non-issue imo, just following orders. Gregorak arguably had bigger off field issues than Garza.coloradocat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:15 pmVigen's going to have to keep his eye on him but seems like a good hire on the field.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:09 pmStarted out rising the ranks pretty well, then got in trouble. I like that Vigen has worked with him in the past and the two of them have a working relationship already established. He could certainly open up some texas recruiting pipelines.

Had a pretty good D in an offense loving conference last year. His D held UIW and SELA to some of their lowest regular season outputs.

McNeese did give up the 114th most passing yards in the country last year, but they also played Cam Ward and Coley Kelley twice each.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:57 pmHad a pretty good D in an offense loving conference last year. It's hard to tell, but did he and Shawn Howe work together at Dixie State and/or USC? I can't tell if they had some overlap, or if they barely missed each other at each of those places.

They were together for one year at Dixie, where Howe was the DC. They may have very briefly touched paths while at Tennessee, but I don’t think so. USC was pretty far apart.

Re: Willie Mack Garza named DC
Willie Mack was at USC in 2010, and Howe was there (the first time) in 2011 and 2012. Howe then came back to USC in 2019.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 5:08 pmThey were together for one year at Dixie, where Howe was the DC. I see the plan now, I think. Gather up all the best former ndsu guys and then turn the tables on the giant.

I am excited about this hire. Coach is getting guys he trusts in key positions. We will be fine...as long as someone teaches him how to use Uber.
