I believe his wife is still in Boise. I know he’s been trying to get back there for a long time.2015cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 11:49 amGoing to Boise State per Football scoop.

Re: Coach Potter
That's good for him, but sucks for us. I know he was/is well-like in the TE and O-line room.

Just waiting on the local sports guys to “break” the news that’s already reported on BN.

Re: Coach Potter
Man things seem very tight-lipped, or maybe just no reporters digging these stories out, not sure. Either way, good luck Coach!

Re: Coach Potter
Since we keep sending guys to Boise maybe we can get a coach to come our way again soon. It's not in the Vigen pipeline but sure seems to be in the Bobcat pipeline.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Re: Coach Potter
Actually, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Potter has been trying to leave. I know he was trying to get on the Boise staff last year when they had the coaching change there. Nates wife lives and works in Boise, so it makes total sense.

Could work very very well in terms of sending player talent our way.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 12:21 pmSince we keep sending guys to Boise maybe we can get a coach to come our way again soon. It's not in the Vigen pipeline but sure seems to be in the Bobcat pipeline.

Re: Coach Potter
Well no it isn't a surprise that he's going to Boise, more just a comment that I've heard next to nothing about any coaching offseason moves.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see more from the previous staff leave, particularly the ones without MSU ties. They were kind of stuck when Choate left and most were fortunate to retain their jobs but now they’ve had time to find opportunities elsewhere, if they desired. Maybe the great season will help keep them here!CelticCat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 1:22 pmWell no it isn't a surprise that he's going to Boise, more just a comment that I've heard next to nothing about any coaching offseason moves.

I’d expect Armstrong to stick around, but I’d bet the others are all short term hires (like most coaches) ready to move on to bigger and better things.ND0479 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 1:40 pmI wouldn’t be surprised to see more from the previous staff leave, particularly the ones without MSU ties. Armstrong Son is heading to MSU. I doubt he commits as a PWO if Dad was planning on leaving.AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 2:11 pmI’d expect Armstrong to stick around, but I’d bet the others are all short term hires (like most coaches) ready to move on to bigger and better things.ND0479 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 1:40 pmI wouldn’t be surprised to see more from the previous staff leave, particularly the ones without MSU ties. Re: Coach Potter
Yeah, I think I just wrote that he wasn’t going anywhere. Having a son on the roster also doesn’t mean a coach won’t leave, I think we all have seen that happen before.2015cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 2:44 pmArmstrong Son is heading to MSU. Re: Coach Potter
He talks about working for Choate and Vigen and what he learned from them at 2:00 into the video. One thing he said about Vigen that was interesting but didn't surprise me is that it was about the process and he never swerved from that goal.

We missed an opportunity here. We could have called the TE's the nocturnals. Coach Potter and the nocturnals....
