I would think you'd get that I was saying I'm glad he's gone--being a Griz fan and all. I'm glad we don't have to face him anymore--he was that good. Get it?

Amen - great point.
In fact, there were other burned red-shirts that would've have been useful for future play, but at the time were absolutely necessary - Kane Ioane and Joey Thomas jump to mind.
Joey redshirted at University of Washington before transferring to MSU, but definitely wish Kane would have redshirted during that forgettable season in 2000.

That's an interesting admission. So, without them, do you think 2006 will be a good year? How do you see the Cats doing against what is shaping up to be one of the top 5 Griz teams ever? But I guess the more important question is do you think the Cats are enhanced to the point this year that a playoff game is anticipated?
Everything is always on its way somewhere.

With your O-Line? I hope you have a lot of QB's because you will need them. Our third string O-Line could start for the griz!
And your D-line? They will get pushed all over the place!
Top five griz teams ever? Only if you are only counting the last five years.

Yes, I think 2006 will be a good year. MSU takes a hit at the QB position, but I think they are going to be better at most other positions, especially RB and on the defensive side of the ball.
By the way, if we go by the statements of the Griz message board crowd, every "internet-era" Griz team has been among the Top 5 All-Time Griz teams in April...wake me up in October when you've actually played some games.

Top 5 Griz teams ever??? That sounds awfully familiar. Kind of like how the Griz had the best defense in the conference last year--oh wait, that is until they played the good offenses in the conference. The bottom line is that nobody knows right now. Yes, I was in Great Falls and I would say that although the Cats looked raw, understandably, they look better overall than last year. You stand a better chance of winning games if you can control the clock and they look like a team that can do just that. Jefferson will emerge as a top-notch receiver. Also, last time I checked the Griz were in the same situation as the Cats---looking for a quarterback and a receiver or two. There is nothing to say that Swogger will play any better than either Carpenter or Rolovich. They only real weapon I see returning on this "top 5 Griz team" is Hilliard. The Cats will have the league's best defense, again. I would guess Jefferson to be an all-conference receiver and Groves to be an all-conference back. The O-Line is as tough as they get and I feel Rolovich will emerge as a very good quarterback. He has the tools the only thing that remains to be seen is his leadership skills. What we need is an outright conference title so the Griz fans can quit putting their team on the same level as ours, even though they have been beaten 3 out of 4 years. Granted it is also 3 out of 20 for us, but in recent years the Cats have been a better team and I look for this to be their best team yet.

I know I keep hounding on it, but I can't help it. I should be blocked from coming on here, because everytime I do, I get more and more excited about football season and it's sooo far away
How am i gonna make it through the summer?
On topic, anybody that's talking about how good their team is gonna be is just plain foolish. I think the Cats shape up to be a very very good team, but it's so long from now, who knows what can happen between then and now. It's just ridiculous to say that a team is one of the top 5 teams ever. Especially when there is a new quarterback and Hauck is still the coach.
Family is family forever, until they become a Griz fan.
