Re: Injuries
If you want a blue print of how to take down EWU, take a look at the first round playoff game last spring against NDSU.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:18 pmThat is excellent news! Hopefully Tyrel continues to knock the rust off and get back to 100% as well, and as you say if we get Z and C back - that would be the best case scenario because they will all need to play their best games of the season to take down EWU.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 12:53 pm
Good news on zambrano. Hoping both he and Campbell can be ready to go for eastern. We will need our secondary at full strength.
The Bison had their "JV's" playing, but kept running the middle until EWU couldn't stop them. They kept Barriere off the field and ran for about 350 yards. The game is on YouTube.

Re: Injuries
Yep, I agree 100%. Most fans won't like it but I'm guessing you'll see the Cats just continue to pound Ifanse and crew up the middle, maybe a little more outside sweep and\or RPO stuff short passes, etc. Unlike Weber, I think if we pound on them long enough those runs will turn into huge gains late in the game. Just need to make sure we're doing whatever it takes to move the chains a bunch early in the game. I'd be perfectly happy with 9 minute drives for TDs.Helcat72 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:25 amIf you want a blue print of how to take down EWU, take a look at the first round playoff game last spring against NDSU.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:18 pmThat is excellent news! But..... first up let's take care of ISU and then start worrying about the game plan for EWU. Awesome that both teams have byes for that, that's not very common.

Re: Injuries
Gonna have to go back and watch that, I see that NDSU only had 50 yards passing in that game.Helcat72 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:25 amIf you want a blue print of how to take down EWU, take a look at the first round playoff game last spring against NDSU.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:18 pmThat is excellent news! I didn't really pay attention to those spring games much, and didn't watch any of the playoffs except the championship.

Re: Injuries
How are we looking this year versus the past 4-5 years? It seems like other than the DB room we've remained generally healthy this year. Only a few guys have missed 3+ weeks. I wonder if this says anything about how the next 1-2 months goes or if it's all just a crap shoot.

Re: Injuries
Seems like it. Weber is suffering. Wonder if the Spring season had anything to do with that. (Obviously isn't impacting EWU)coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 4:17 pmHow are we looking this year versus the past 4-5 years? Re: Injuries
It's not impacting them yet, but I watched the replay of their game Saturday and it looks like they did have some players go down, mainly on the lines. If any Eags fans on here know any updates, please share. That game Saturday is extremely important.onceacat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 9:45 pmSeems like it. Weber is suffering. Re: Injuries
Lots of new key players on the sidelines yesterday. Really good time for a bye. Hopefully nothing Serious for TJ, Chase, Kal, etc.

Re: Injuries
So what happened to Chase in pregame? I’ve heard he is not 100% health wise and has been all year.

Re: Injuries
The Cat insider article said he was on crutches. That is a huge loss for our defense. Probably the worst loss the defense could take.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 8:35 pmI heard he hurt his back but I don't know any more specifics.superbobcat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 6:06 pmSo what happened to Chase in pregame? Re: Injuries
Losing Benson and Callahan had a pretty visible impact on the defense as has been discussed but I think we've kind of glossed over losing Session on offense. You could tell our oline was out of sorts with all the shuffling and while I love Tui, I don't think having him at RT for an extended amount of time is optimal. Does anyone know what kind of injury we are looking at there? I think we have depth at dline with lots of bodies to rotate in but we are razor thin on the oline right now.

Re: Injuries
He was on crutches to keep pressure off his back. Hoping it was just back spasms or a minor tweak, I'm guessing he'll be ready for EWU but I guess we'll see.seataccat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:56 amThe Cat insider article said he was on crutches. Re: Injuries
I heard Benson’s injury could be serious and that it involved his back. O’Reilly was in concussion protocol due to a minor fender bender.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 11:24 amHe was on crutches to keep pressure off his back. I didn’t hear this from parents or coaches, but I did hear this from someone close to the program.

Re: Injuries
There was an obvious drop off defensively without Chase and Callahan on the field this last weekend, as long as they’re healthy I’m glad they’ll be back! The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time… Max strength and health for the postseason push!!

Re: Injuries
I think the spring season is taking its toll. I’m probably wrong, but aren’t the only two undefeated teams in Big Sky play the only two that did not play at all in the spring — MSU and SAC? Some of the teams that did play seem to be fading just a bit.

Re: Injuries
That might just be a case of finding the conclusion you want to see. Both teams have had fairly easy schedules so far. Other Weber and Missoula every other opponent on the two schedules was from the bottom half.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 4:22 pmI think the spring season is taking its toll.
