Re: Injuries
Tweet just a few minutes ago said Coy suffered a very serious injury. That was the extent of the info.

Re: Injuries
They rested him and got Danny U reps...who needs them. Troy looked fine on the sideline the entire second half holding his helmet. Wasn't limping or anything.

That’s good. I’m assuming something had to happen though? He barely played after the 1st qtr...

Re: Injuries
They didn't get Danny U reps because he needs them. They got him reps because he's really good. I think Troy might be transitioning to an expanded role due, in part, to Danny U's abilities.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 7:15 amThey rested him and got Danny U reps...who needs them. Re: Injuries
Troy seemed fine to me. Can't say it's a bad move to rest him up against UNCU and for next week's beat down of Cal Poly before the brutal back half of the conference schedule.

Expanded role?? As in, some offense?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 7:18 amThey didn't get Danny U reps because he needs them. They got him reps because he's really good. Re: Injuries
It's hard to believe they're resting him on defense to play him on offense. Unless someone has gotten through to Troy that his best chance in the NFL is on offense I don't see what expanded role he would be moving towards.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 8:34 amExpanded role?? Re: Injuries
Back to the real theme of this thread: were there any injuries in the game? When Willie got blown up on the punt I thought he was done for but he eventually came back. It looked like we made it out healthy for the first time this season.

I honestly think it’s going to happen. Pretty brutal 2nd half schedule coming up. Troy is an amazing athlete and I would bet he’ll be punching in rushing touchdowns soon.

Re: Injuries
After a tackle Troy was flexing his hand like it was bothering him. If he is dinged up a little, probably his hand. Smart to give Danny reps with the game in hand and Nolan being out. I would be very surprised if he goes back in on offense, that is the roll of Tommy Mellott.

Re: Injuries
To be honest, with the game well and in hand and UNC showing absolutely no threat, I was surprised how long many of our starters were still in the game, especially on offense. No need to be risking these guys' health with the meat of the schedule coming up. Glad to see alot of these younger guys get some reps.

Re: Injuries
I saw what Vim saw. A happy Troy on the sideline ready to go in if needed. Helmet in hand, and often on during the 3rd quarter.
Amandre Williams is dealing with a wrist/hand issue though. He had a small black cast on to start the game yesterday that covered his wrist and lower hand. In the 3rd quarter one of the trainers was working on him and having Amandre squeeze the trainers fingers.

Re: Injuries
I used to come here to get little tidbits of information. This injury thing and offensive role with TA is just complete speculation. I will go with Vim’s take that they are saving him for a long season with big games ahead of us.
And Danny U is a real stud. But I was amazed at how more effective the D was with TA at linebacker. Eye opening yesterday.

I’m always wary of reading too much into things. I’m just pointing out some very obvious stuff. I think you’re both reading too much into my commentary.
