Joey on ESPN Radio
did anyone else hear Joey T. on ESPN radio last night with Shawn Salisbury? He did an excellent job!! They talked about starting along side Al Harris, so Joey must be in the driver seat. He is a class act and MSU should be very proud of having him represent us. He is the best corner we have had and probably will have for a long time. He got a bad rap from the Big Sky Ref's because they were not used to seeing someone play that good of man coverage. Sort of a case of "we haven't seen anyone be able to do that so it must be PI". Like Coach K used to say "Joey tips the field in our favor". Way to go Joey.

I've been impressed with all of his comments and actions since he became a pro, too. He did an incredible job with his football camp here in Bozeman and has been a great spokesperson for MSU since he first became a Packer. Hope he does VERY well for a VERY long time.
And, yes - I still want him to be a pro-bowler, though I will always have trouble picturing him wearing polyester and lighting up the lanes!
Go Joey!

He had a lot of good things to say. Looks like he'll have a long career in Green Bay, which should remain a great franchise. Nothing like beating out a first rounder from the same draft (Ahmad Carroll) to give a player a might shot of confidence.
Those who think Green Bay messed up this draft are dead wrong. Green Bay solved the secondary problems and now has the sucessor to Favre with a late first round pick. Any time a team can grab a franchise QB at the end of the first round and give him a year or two to learn the system, the team does well in the draft.
For all the talk from the Vikings camp, Randy Moss is gone, and I'm not a Culpepper believer. Likewise, Detroit is better, but will be plagued by QB controversy all year. Chicago should be just plain bad. Green Bay might not have enough talent to go the Super Bowl, but the team should take the division. Give management massive credit for keeping Green Bay on top in these days of parity.

Looks like Joey has been penciled in as the starting left CB on this recently (today) released depth chart. I know a lot can happen between now and opening day but this is a hell of a start.

By the way, I agree gecko. Green Bay has been able to consistently perform at a very high level in the NFL (although only one Superbowl victory) which of the all of the professional sports is probably the hardest to do that in. Quite a franchise to be associated with.
