Someone on this list stands out and should be an easy pick. But they've screwed this award up --- IMO --- a few times, so I don't want to say who and jinx it.

I think this is an easy pick as well. We'll see how it comes out.

Geeezzzz, to me there's a couple very deserving...but...I would be proud for any one of them. Glad I don't have to make the decision.

My voting would be:

1. McGowan (I am partial to track athletes, especially ones with marks as impressive as his)

2. Emmert (it's hard to argue against his W/L record)

3. Burrows

4. Nelson (more very impressive track marks and victories)

1. McGowan

2. Emmert

3. Nelson

4. Popovich (never heard about her, but sounds impressive)

Aren't there any wrestlers this year? It seems to me there are usually 2 or 3 MT kids wrestling in the Big Ten and Big 12 each year. (Zadick's, Gt. Falls, or Eggum, Sidney)

Side note: I wish MSU could bring back smaller Title 9 casualty sports like wrestling and boxing. Can you imagine how fun it would be to pack ol' Romney or Shroyer for some NCAA sanctioned butt-kicking.

Okay, let me rephrase my earlier post. I should not have said EASY choice, but there is one that sticks out more to me is what I meant. They of course are all deserving of it as all of them have very high accolades!

I guess a day later and rereading my post, I meant my post to read there's only a couple that, in my opinion, should not be considered. There's no way I'd want to have to pick a winner based on the accomplishments of this group as they're almost all worthy.

I'm not sure who you think is the clear cut winner, but Zoe has beaten NATIONAL competition.

She's the best amateur athlete in the state; period. And only 18 (maybe 17?)

I used to date a girl who ran against Zoe, she wasn't too found of her. It was Zoe, then that Heidi girl from Great Falls, then my girlfriend.

Great selections for the Award. I think that if, and there's a good chance he will, Emmert leads CC to a fourth straight national NAIA title Montana has a good chance at having a Big Sullivan Award winner.
