MSU vs. SDSU - Men's Basketball
Hey Bobcats,
Thought I would start a thread about this Friday's game. Your guys are making the trek to Brookings for our only home game in December. We are very young this year (7 freshmen and 1 soph, with a handful of upperclassmen) and currently are starting 3 fresh., 1 soph., and 1 sr. (couple of starters out with injuries) but we seem to be starting to play a little better. How about your guys?
Stop by our board if you want to say hi.

I haven't heard anything, but I would think it would be just about as easy to go through Minneapolis wouldn't it?

Yep. Sioux Falls (45 min. away from SDSU) gets flights from Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Orlando, and Salt Lake City. Brookings (Home of SDSU) gets flights from Denver. I figured they wouldn't have any problem because there are lots of options, but I thought I would check.kmax wrote:I haven't heard anything, but I would think it would be just about as easy to go through Minneapolis wouldn't it?

The good:89rabbit wrote:Final
SDSU 65 - MSU 62
Branden Johnson's shooting
The bad:
Turnovers
On-the-ball defending
Defensive rebounding at key times
The Cats just didn't seem to have any offensive flow and don't have a guy that can consistently break down the defense.
On the other end, SDSU got into the lane very easily at times and had several offensive rebounds off free throws, etc.

Durham was the primary ballhandler. Taylor didn't play a ton of minutes.crimsonfacedbobcat wrote:who's the point guard? 19 turnovers indicates that either the Jackrabbits have a helluva defense or that the 'Cats are struggling to get the ball up the floor and read defenses?
Sloppy passing, rather than intense defensive pressure, led to the majority of the turnovers.
3 point shooting was pretty good, but the Cats had no inside game to speak of and no one really took it to the defense. Mostly, they'd just pass around the perimeter and settle for jump shots.
On defense, the Cats had a tough time stopping SDSU's guards from penetrating, hence the large discrepancy in free throws.
Branden Johnson had a nice game. He can really shoot the ball. Dissly played pretty well, but was pressing at times. As I mentioned above, none of the big guys really did much. Davis and Durr were OK.
