A great honor for Joe! Playing with some of the best in I-AA (I'm thinking that I may refuse to call it by the new name...) like Murrell, Nkang, Thigpen, etc. It will be great to see him do his thing once again.

Only two players from the Big Sky? Where are Murphy, Murrieatta (sp) and other Big Sky players? Must be more East Coast Bias.

I don't see a lot of the premier I-AA names on that list (and the I-A guys aren't household names, either), so maybe some guys you are thinking about from the BSC turned down invites to this game in favor of playing in one of the many other all star games?

Regardless, this is an excellent opportunity for Hirst to get some additional experience and maybe get some looks for football after college.

The premiere 1-A players usually don't participate in all-star games anymore, do they? Seems like they are protecting themselves (probobly rightly so) for the draft and the big signing bonuses.

If this IS the case then, the next tier of players play in the bigger all-star games like the BLUE-GRAY game and the one played in Hawaii. The biggest 1-AA stars get invites to these games too so........that leaves what you get for the magnolia bowl.
