Does that mean that in the event of a Bobcat win a first round playoff game will likley be in a half full Wash-Griz stadium? Yes. Mooolah speaks, and Wa-Griz pulls it in.

k..back on topic - keys to winning on Nov 18th -
fast start - if the cats can get to a two score advantage - the game should be pretty much over - Kramer loves to pound the ball right at the opponents line and dominate the clock. (plus takes the crowd out of the game..)
special teams - we can't afford the comical mistakes, someone please figure out how to nail the 'roll punt'
Defensively - has anyone really put pressure on swogger? He flat out CAN'T run! - let's blitz the h#ll out of them....

Can't argue with Swogger's inability to run, but if he struggles enough, Hauck won't be afraid to put Burquist in, who is much more mobile.CatsRback wrote:k..back on topic - keys to winning on Nov 18th -

Well you also played ISU after the Cat did ... see Bobcat affect. The Cats usually beat down their opponent so bad they usually lose the week after too (Htowngriz wrote:I'm not trying to smack here, but I don't think our D had much trouble against ISU's top rated offense; I don't think we'll have trouble against the cats. That being said, our offense has been anemic the last few games- plenty of talent, but Swogger just hasn't been consistent, and our play-calling has been incredibly uninspired. With MSU's solid D, I see the brawl being very similar to today's game.

It is all fine and dandy to call yourself Co-Champs if it makes you feel good but everyone know the teams that gets the automatic birth in the playoffs it the real Big Sky Champ and the rest don't mean squat.The_Bobcats_Suck wrote:*Sigh, Double Sigh!Cledus wrote:*sigh*
Christ, it's like I'm talking to a child. I probably am.
Last year, there were three teams with the same conference record. It was a round-robin of who beat each other. There's no argument about the shared championship when it involves more than two teams.
There is no shared championship if there's two teams with the same record and one of them beat the other heads up. If the Cats win on 11-18 the only team in the conference to have beaten them will be EWU. EWU, based on their record, is not in contention despite having beat the Cats. Thus, there can be no shared championship.
Why do I get the feeling you're one of these people who riles up everyone on eGriz and is the fuel for all these bar fights I read about?
Cledus,
'splain this.....
Year 2004 Griz and EWU have same Big Sky record at 6-1. Griz beat EWU that year, there only BSC loss.
Do you recall what the end result was that year?
Griz/EWU SHARED BIG SKY CHAMPS!
What say you?
I don't care how the BSC works their tiebreakers or lack thereof. If you call yourself Big Sky Champions without winning the automatic bid you are sadly mistaken. Co-Champs is for tee ball when no one wants to hurt any ones feelings.
Therefore I propose a new man law, NO Co-Champs- If you beat someone head to head and you get the automatic birth you are Champ. End of Discussion.

Here is the answer on tiebreakers from the conference office:
Big Sky responds:
"When two or more Conference members are tied in the final Conference standings, the team championship, for purposes of determing the automatic bid, shall be determined on the following basis:br>
HEAD-TO-HEAD COMPETITION
1- Consider the head-to-head record during the Conference season's play.
That said, the winner on Nov. 18th is the Conference Champion and the loser is 2nd.
End of story.

That's the response for the AUTO-BID, not the Conference Championship. See my post above about 2004.083190 wrote:Here is the answer on tiebreakers from the conference office:

Excuse me. Correct me if I am wrong, but the first round game in 2004 was a sellout was it not?Htowngriz wrote:If the cats ever had a home first-round playoff game, they would realize that many people, especially students, are visiting family this weekend, thus the lower attendencebobcatgrad2005 wrote:D@mn you Mr. Suck for making me defend Cledus. I think that first weekend of the playoffs are a hard one to fill a stadium due to the timing.
Because I don't remember, what did the Griz pull in vs Cal Poly last year in that first round game? For some reason I was thinking either 16K or 18K. Still pretty darn good numbers.
I'd love to alter my thanksgiving weekend plans this year!

I already have a 50/50 plan, where I have no idea what I'll be doing but I'm hoping it will be in Bozeman watching the Cats win their first round game. I can't wait to go to Missoula and hopefully like I've been saying all year we beat the Griz and get a home playoff game.barechestcat wrote:I think that first weekend of the playoffs are a hard one to fill a stadium due to the timing.

P.S. Wish we beat EWU.

Yeah, that would have been a nice insurance win, wouldn't it? Even a (shudders) Chadron St. win would have given us a legitimate shot if we happened to falter in Missoula. Coulda woulda shoulda, eh?DaCats Forever wrote:I already have a 50/50 plan, where I have no idea what I'll be doing but I'm hoping it will be in Bozeman watching the Cats win their first round game. Oh well, I'll be plenty happy if we beat the Griz on the 18th.

GO CATS!
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
