It's nice that sportsinfo contributes bits from time to time. So, thank you msusportsinfo for clearing this up. Feel free to provide more. We'll take all of the information you are willing to give. :)

Here is the reason the student section will never be full:
(and sorry if someone has already posted this) Anyway, the reason is because of the new rules with student tailgating. Unless they have changed the rule back recently, you can only enter the student tailgating section with a ticket for the game. Therefore all the student tickets are grabbed up as soon as possible during the week, mostly by students who just want to be able to tailgate. There is only a certain amount of student tickets avail. so this leaves a certain amount avail. for the students who actually want to watch the game. The new rule is ridiculous in my opinion.

I didn't read all the posts so someone might have said this, but we always loose students in late October because of Hunting, It has been that way since I was a kid and believe that it plays a big role in loosing students.

I am not going to believe this information until msusportsinfo provides their name and university employee number.

WHAT? You must be from that hole 200 miles to the west. They are the only ones that say "prove it" all the time.

very true. It is easy for guys to get extra tickets for their friends to come tailgate. I saw a guy with about four extra tickets in his back pocket during the last game. All you need to get a ticket is a onecard so students should be able to present our onecard to get into the tailgate and not waste tickets.

Something like this may be a possible solution:

Forget the current rules. Go back to the old way, except for one thing; have someone at the gate to the tailgate sections checking ID's. Over 21 - you get a wristband - under 21, no wrist band. Then security could easily patrol the areas and check who is underage. This may encourage some more of the younger student population to go into the game, if they don't want to get caught out drinking. The over 21 crowd would not have to waste the game ticket if they didn't want to go into the game.

This is just a simple brainstorm, with no thought of logistics or impact. Whatever the solution, the current situation should be fixed.
