The Griz and those 8 others

During the BSC championship today, ESPN played a little game where the announcers (who include Valvano) tried to guess the nicknames of the BSC schools. They were about 0 for 5 when Montana came up. Their statement (word for word): "Well, everyone knows that one". Then msu came up and Valvano said, "Well, that's a lot tougher", and then he had no guess.

As Griz fans have said all along the BSC is comprised of the the Grizzlies, and 8 other schools no one knows anything about.

I saw it. ESPN is full of dumbasses anyway. They never cease to amaze me.

Have fun kids......................................

I was watching the game & the little quiz was so simple a 4th year griz could pass it with only one 'intersession'.

Pi$$ poor announcing by ESPN, but what else is new. Valvano was sooooooo into the game.

Who would you rather have calling the game?
Someone who gives a $hit about the BSC.

Valvano was annoying. He kept going on and on about NAU's lack of D. It's a no-brainer that a team that is ranked 300-something in points allowed per game isn't good a D. He didn't need to remind it so many times when Weber got an easy basket. Another thing is when they brought up the Big East Tournament...if I wanted to hear about it I could have switched the channel to hear it. We should clap for Valvano that he could guess his school mascot correctly. =D^ As for his comment about the griz, it didn't bother me because I think we Montanans enjoy the fact that the state and this goes for MSU are the last best secret. The outside world doesn't realize how great it is to live here or attend MSU. I did like how they said Weber was better than a 16. I'd be happy if they get 15 but I think they should get a 14.

That is funny. At least the people that follow sports at this level, (Like the football coach for App. State for example), know the real story. I think his quote was, "It used to be the Grizzlies, then everyone else in the Big Sky... but that has changed the past few years because the Bobcats have started beating the Grizzlies on a regular basis" or something similar...

After last season, It's becomming more "semi" regular. After next season it will be somewhat regular, and then the year after that it will be, "Dear God don't let this one go to 16" in Bozeman

The moment that Montana was eliminated from the postseason, any national interest in the Big Sky conference immediately vanished. Not suprising. Weber will get rolled in the first round. Meanwhile, last year The Flagship lent credibility to the BSC by winning over last year's version of a top 10 team in Nevada and playing Boston College even until they went on a lights out shooting streak in the second half.

Come on now. The last two times Weber was in the dance they won there first game. It is because of Weber that People in the "BIG Dance" know who The Bis Sky is. Not because of last year and the Friz

I've never been less impressed with a supposed "star" athlete than I am with Iverson.

Yeah, the Cats have found their Griz-beater for sure. His name is Bobby Hauck
