Are Cat fans REALLY trying to kick the Griz after they lost a game like this?

You guys really need to quit coming over to BOBCAT Nation looking for well wishes and self affirmation. Get over yourselves. I'm not kicking the griz, they played hard and ran into a really good team. Good for them, you should be proud of them. I still can't figure out why you think that we're going to be talking about how great you are, though. I am glad UMass won the game, I hope the griz lose every game they play for the rest of time.

i never expected praise whatsoever -- i just didn't expect alot of $hit talk from you guys for obvious reasons

I agree, I think many cat fans on here were seriously expecting a victory over us this year, and haven't really been able to get their smack on until last night's loss.

On a Bobcat site, you want validation for your school Go back to your site and fight with each other over there and quit trying to convince us you're worthy of anything

You can't seem to understand the simple fact that there can be no bonding without common suffering as most of you and your fans are too young to remember the 50s, 60s and 70s in Bobcat sports and where your "mighty" program was during that time, what it felt like to be a part of a free fall into near oblivion and the slow but steady revival of the Cats. Too damn bad you are the followup to the Eastern Kentucky version of the 1-AA playoffs and you're continually showing up. You fizzled again. Big deal.

Fizzled again? Going to the semis? Losing to the A10 champ and potential national champ by 2??? Going to the title game five of the last ten years?

In reality, it appears that you are just trying to find something to hang your hat on to criticize Bobcat fans for as a way to make yourself feel better about the loss to UMass.

So if taking swipes at the whole fanbase makes you feel better, go for it. You're right that it's been a few. However, notice I didnt start this thread until AFTER the "poor grizzlies" thread reached 2 pages and all of this $hit talking came out. And - be honest - we all like to bash eachother, but did you ever hear much smack out of Griz fans after the Cats got blown out in the second round?

Did you even read that thread? Very few posts in there were even smacking the Griz -- hell, there were more posts questioning Hell's sanity than posting about the Griz.

Again, if you are sincere, call out the specific posters and posts that you think are unfair ... as opposed to starting a new thread that criticizes the entire fanbase.

And considering that both you and Htown did you darndest to be upset when a poster referring to the Griz defense as "vaunted" (which actually seemed quite sincere to me -- the theme of the thread to that point was how the Griz D had won games for them all season to compensate for the weak offense), even though his post was far from smacky and actually had a sincere attempt to break down what happened in the game, it's obvious that you both were dying to find something to smack back against.

Looking back at that thread, I would say that "SCOOP" and maybe one other poster even posted anything that would be considering sincere smack.

In the final analysis, both schools respective football teams are finished for this school year; the nervous truce started because you hear the footsteps coming (and becoming a floodswell) is now over. We'll start evaluating the history, stats, and potential of the kids our coaching staffs bring to our programs and argue who had the better recruiting class, what defense will beat the respective offenses, even whether we agree with the entire philosophy behind what we do in each institution. It's a small, vicious circle out here miniscule in comparison to most rivalry schools, but it's ours and I'm rather appreciative the MODS have the smack thread for this sole purpose. Oh, have I said I've even got relatives who went to dUMb? After they flunked out of another college accounting program, they were denied admission to MSU. Had to go 202 miles to the west and they're now practicing accounting. Don't think they've ever passed the CPA exam, however

honestly -- how could anyone get denied admission to either msu or UM

Look, I'd like to carry on giving you something to refocus your energy to in consolation for last night, but there's a game about to start. For obvious reasons I want ASU to manhandle both Youngstown and UMASS so I can take small consolation in the fact that we were put out by the very best in the playoffs this year. It won't alter the fact that there will now be either another team with two national title or Youngstown has finally recovered from the severe recruiting vilolations and will start adding to the four they already have. Have a great offseason and come on back to the smack thread. Remember everything I may post in the other threads are substaniated with facts

I congratulated the Griz on a great season in the "Poor Grizzlies" thread. That said, I recall threads on this very board proclaiming how proficient the Griz offense would be with Swogger, Chambers, and Bradshaw, and it simply did not turn out that way. Thus, I feel I deserved an "I told you so" post on the SMACK BOARD.

As a Griz fan, can you honestly say that you expected it would be the offense, and the QB position in specific, that would end up being the weak link on an otherwise championship caliber team? Also, why do I find it funny that a Griz fan would start such a whining thread on the Bobcat Board? For the umpteenth time, while some of you Griz fans may somehow feel superior to Bobcat fans, keep in mind that this is the Bobcat message board, SMACK division. Posts like yours only further solidify my view of the stereotypical Griz fan. A fan able to dish out insults, but if heaven forbid a Bobcat fan points out a Griz failing, the Griz fan then gets all sensitive and acts like it is unacceptable.

If you don't want to see the Griz criticized, I suggest you stop visiting this board.

If you teddy fans really think Cat fans and our football program are below you, then why in the F#$@ do you care what we think or say? You are biggest bunch of thin-skinned folks I know. 90% of your fan base is so spoiled with the success your team has had, you just don't know how to handle criticism, adversity, or challenges. I think I know why so many of them abuse drugs or self-medicate by drinking in excess, or practice unsafe sex around their campus. They're masochistics who have never experienced any excitement in their entire miserable life. They know they'll get slapped around in certain parts of town, yet they insist on going there for the sheer excitement of it all. They know they'll wind up with a STD if they have sex with (fill in the blank) but they still not only have sex, unprotected sex. They have to come back here. It's a form of fix for them
