A championship defense at UM ruined by a QB who couldn't beat out Alex Brink.

Is this Swogger's fault or Hauck's fault?

That said, GREAT season Griz. It's too bad it had to be tainted by a QB who was terrible all season. Edwards would have won a title with that INCREDIBLE Griz defense.

Swogger did make some bad mistakes. And I wasn't counting, but man he had alot of passes he just plain overthrew. Cole Berquist will take over QB duties next year for the teddys and will do a great job - no smack, I just think he's ready for 2007.

how far did berqist get them last year?


i dont know but in my book because he made the semis he is one of the top 4 qbs in the land


but btw i do agree with you, you forgot to mention he didnt have one totally healthy year until...this year

The griz made it as far as they did because of their "D' and special teams play, not because of their brilliant 'O' performance. UMass 'D' flat shut them down.

Really, Hell's, get a grip. You rip Rolo for not making the plays against Appy and then you turn around and practically anoint Swogger as one of the best teddy QBs ever. Swogger made far more bad throws than Rolo did. Rolo is just a junior and was only supposed to compete for the starting job as MSU this year. Swogger was the god-send from Wazzu who was going to take the teddys all the way.

I think if you look at the numbers, both QBs performed about the same in their final game of 2006. You need some consistency. The only reason the teddys got as far as they did was because they fielded one of the best defenses I have ever seen play 1-AA football.

Too bad Swogger and Hauck didn't have a similar short passing game in mind. They certainly have no running game and therefore have no effective passing game. So be it. Time to hibernate GRiz while the CATS will be on the prowl all winter long. Beware the CATS will be back.

Last time I checked, your "vaunted" defense gave up 38 points, not ours. Prowl all you want, next year we hill have Lex, a solid, mobile qb in berquist, and a very similar D. See you in bozeman

That's smack. Doesn't hurt just a little to loose such a close game on your on turf in front of 24,000 screaming fans? C'mon, the griz have the best stadium in 1-AA. Ouch.
