The seniors on this team were all Joe Glenn recruits. The last recruiting class Joe Glenn had was not a very good class, by any standards.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:How so?jagur1 wrote:Cowboy Joe Didn't leave Bobby a lot to work with.
Real nice - I'm sure the seniors would love to hear that. And maybe Chris Snyder!grizband wrote:Update:
This morning's Missoulian has an article about Brad Rhoades working out a two year deal with the Tennessee Titans.

I think most of my comments were directed at Grizband's post - yours just happend to start that small thread. If you feel I criticized your post (which I can see how that could be), I apologize and assure you that I wasnt' talking about your post. Did we underperfom? Yes - I think most Cat fans will agree to that. Did an underperforming Bobcat team beat the Griz 16-6? Yes.jagur1 wrote:This comming from a crew that chased away a life long Bobcat family just because they didn't make the big dance and the Griz did. (nice)
Not once did I say I didn't appreciate the effort, or the play of the Seniors. Nor did I say Cowboy Joe was a bad coach. I just stated the class didn't have the NFL talent that other classes at the U of M have had.
Now I did say that Mr. Clean must suck as a coach to have one of the best all time QBs in the history of the BSC, a great running back, a great O line, the best D in the BSC last year, the most accurate Kicker in a long time, a NFL Wideout and not win 10 games. You give Cowboy Joe that much talent and see how far he'd go. All the games sold out, you had a good homefield advantage and went 6-0 at home. Why didn't this team win 10 games? That is a question you should be asking instead of being so thrilled to post 16-6. That Cat team under performed last year. (Nice)

Listen punk,Blahh Blahhh Blahhh Blah,
By the way, a large portion of the Bobcat faithful did NOT want him to leave. I would say the fan base was pretty much split.
Your're right, saying that this wasn't a good class "by and standards" was a bit harsh. We had some great seniors this year, but I didn't think that many of them were NFL caliber.I guess a better statement would be, this wasn't a good class by normal Griz standards. I also think that Joe Glenn was an great coach, but this particular recruiting class was a little lackluster compared to pervious classes. This observation is based on the fact that a number of the recruits never even saw the field, or contributed little on the field. After reading my original post, it did sound a little harsh. Oh, and Brad, good luck in the NFL. We are all rooting for you. That also goes for Kevin Edwards in the CFL, and any other Griz playing pro football.HelenaCat95 wrote:I think most of my comments were directed at Grizband's post - yours just happend to start that small thread. I felt GB's statement that it wasn't a good class "by any standards" was a little too harsh. I am one Cat fan who has a lot of respect for Joe Glenn. I think he is a good coach, and I personally like him. Was his last recruiting class the best class ever? Probably not, but to say that it wasn't good "by any standards" is incorrect.
Jag - look what you've done to me. I'm defending Joe Glenn and last years Griz FB team.........I feel dirty.

Now back to the smack board .........uh.......Griz suck.
Cat fans, as well as some Griz, don't hesitate to minimize BH's accomplishments by stating his teams to date have been comprised of JG's recruits, while at the same time ignore the fact that JG was only at UM for 3 years and, using the same rationale, that his teams were comprised of Dennehy's recruits. Don't get me wrong, I really like Glenn and think he is a great coach, but I think he himself said it best when discussing his tenure when he stated that he was given the keys to a cadillac at UM and didn't wreck it. It can be argued BH's success at UM was not because of JG's recruits, but was in spite of the fact that JG did not leave him as much talent as was left some of his predecessors.HelenaCat95 wrote:Real nice - I'm sure the seniors would love to hear that. Anyway....congratulations to Brad Rhoades with the Titans. I will be rooting for him to make the team, and to have a long a successful NFL career.
