Post by MaZooLaGriz » Mon Feb 06, 2006 6:17 pm

GREAT FALLS (AP) _ The sports editor of the Great Falls Tribune and the radio voice of the Montana Grizzlies football and men's basketball teams, have been honored by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. George Geise was named the sportswriter of the year for Montana, while Mick Holien was named the state's BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR.

He he he.

You know things aren't going well in grizzville when the only smack they can come up with is "our broadcaster is better than yours."

Nah. We've been saying that for YEARS! It's just that the proof is piling up.

As long as the "Griz network" is larger than the Bobcat family of network Holien will win this award. It has more to do with politics than it does any kind of journalistic criteria

Really? On what do you base that? I presume you're not on the committee that selects, right?

Oh, wow. About as exciting as the SB half time. :-^ :-^

Damn, you folks are really struggling to find anything to crow about. Maybe if you dUMb folks all get to together you can get Monte another win.

WHAT?!?! You don't like the Stones? BLASPHEMY!

And, as someone smarter than me points out on our boards, dUMb is not knowing how to spell MSU, so settling for only a M.

Let's see....win the Cat/Griz football game handily or have the broadcaster of the year. You're right, it's pretty much a toss up.

P.S. A Lot is TWO words.

I was making a point, that the Cat fans critize fans for not having anything good, but all the Cat fans say is 16-6

Oh, you'll see "me" well before that. Take for instance this Friday and Saturday evenings. Then we'll see who's back in the hole!

With all do respect, I do listen to both the Cat's and the Griz and the Cat announcer is BRUTAL.

He can't go more than 5 minutes w/o berating an official or the other team. Where, at least, Mick and Gurns will at least admit a Montana mistake when it happens.

What the hell are you talking about? With their announcing you would think the Griz play flawless football, and the only time something goes wrong is due to poor officiating or bad turf!

Aww, don't blame poor BG, he's got his maroon colored glasses on.

Dude, you ever listen to a Griz game? At least when they bitch about the officiating, which is VERY rare, it's probably legit. The kitty announcer can't go one series w/o bitching about the officiating.

As far as the turf thing, both teams have to play on whatever turf it may be. So, yeah, maybe they do overreact a little there.

Dean Alexander was great to listen to, maybe the newbie should take some pointers.

EDIT: Are we that bored we need to argue over our favorite teams announcers? :-k
