My original and continued thought on the OP is that while 'he' has one finger so rigidly pointed toward coach Ash, he has three pointing back at himself that he is neglecting to or just is not mature enough to see.

I always thought most people knew that most of the players didn't/don't like Ash.

I always thought it was just a few disgruntled guys that were Kramer recruits.

I came to this(99's post) realization last year.

I wonder why Coach Ash has such a long lineage of former players that come back to coach under him if he is supposedly so disliked and disrespected. :-k

You don't have to like your boss.

I'm not gonna put specific names out there because that wouldn't be right, but I would bet around 90% of the players I knew didn't care for Ash at all. Most of those players were starters.

Again, not that uncommon.

what is "not that uncommon"...that 90+% of players don't like ash or players don't like their head coach "across the board"...?

You don't have to like your boss, but you should respect the program your boss has built. Why would you want to learn under someone you don't respect?

Typically the latter, although it is more uncommon with successful teams.

We're a small time football school, where else are these guys going to go to get jobs? I think Clay Bignell is coaching with Northwestern, Rider was in UNLV with Hauck for a while, Cody Kempt was in Cincinnati and somewhere else, but GA positions aren't always easy to get, and you've got to go where you can, and there's a lot of former players looking for coaching jobs. Have to use the "ins" that you have.

First off, this whole "most players don't like Ash" talk is just BS. I've talked to many, many players that love him. Plus, Ash wouldn't have had such a winning tradition if his players never like him. Not the way it works. Lastly, even if that were true, I don't care as long as we keep winning.

But we were also told that DMac would never use Ash as a reference. :-k

My turn, sorry guys for keeping this up, but I would really like to hit that 17th page, really this is the most entertainment I have had this holiday so lets keep it going. All I wanted to say was this, Coach Ash has been driving the same donated GMC truck for about 3 years now, sooo, whatever your son is saying about Ash and how he spends his money is not accurate and maybe your Son should get to actually know his coach, rather than go home and tell you what he thinks about him. Maybe if all the players did that then we could all live in a much happier Bobcat family.
