A fine example of UM recruitment efforts. I'm certain all of the high school seniors that received this email will be suitably impressed. You just can't make this stuff up.

Concrete ideas for improving this email:

1. Access to information without being required to sign up for anything. (Give them SOME info to entice them and get them interested in more before requiring a sign up.
2. Anything visual, anything at all. (Though I assume there is more to this email than what we can see)
3. A quote from a current student about why they picked UM. Testamonials are important.

Proper grammar and spelling would be a good start.

Jed left off the last part of the last line: how are students have found success at McDonalds and Burger King.

Its probable an MSU grad owned the print shop, but its likely a UM School of Fine Arts and Dance "graduate" composed said message.

The email came from Jed Liston, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Services at UM. He describes himself as an "obnoxiously proud" UM grad. Nice try, AG, but there is just no way to make this anything but laughable.

Its almost Thursday and I'm totally spent on harassing innocent people. That's why I've decided to focus all my talents on just you
