What's this a Griz fan standing up for a Bobcat, now I've seen everything.

That's because most Griz fans (at least the ones I know) will root for the Cats if they aren't playing the Griz.

However, I wish I could say that for Cat fans when it comes to the Griz.

I was at a Bobcat home game and after the Bobcats won their game, they put the final minutes up on the jumbo-tron. Almost everyone stayed to see the Griz lose by one point! Way to go NDSU. That was a glorious day for the Cats.... two victories in one day! I hope we get to see more of those this year.

Nice try White-meat. Nobody's buying that B.S. over here. One example, a Griz fan I know of was telling his wife they had to hurry up and get home cause the Bobcat game kicked off in 10 minutes. Another person nearby said, "You watch the Bobcat games when it doesn't coincide witha Griz game?", the guy responds, "Ya, all the time, I just like watching good games." His wife then burst out laughing, "What a load of crap, all you do every time is cheer on the other team, and the cheering gets louder when the Cat's are really down!". I'd say the percentage of your fans that root for us when we're not playing each other is less than 5%.

Its hard not to. You guys sugar coat yourselves so much and put yourself up on a pedastle its hard not to make a Cat fan sick. I love watching your wagon lose all its wheels. There are some very fickle and flat out bitter Griz fans right now the last 2 years thats for sure (make that 5-6 potential fights this year I had to endure for just wearing a Cat hat in the bar). Here they bought all their girly burgundy gear and turns out they weren't on top anymore :) I would be bitter too. The one Griz dude I even bought him a shot to make him feel better (and yes Jagr .. it was a Yaegermeister shot), it just made him worse and he just couldn't handle my hat/walk away. So long story made short, the bar tender kicked his butt out of the bar. So you say whats not to like about the Griz? That kind of stuff gets old. And yes, I know there are some good Griz fans out there because I talked to a lot of cool ones after the Cat/Griz game last year.

I have no problem talking smack to anyone with a smile on my face (and used to getting it back), but what I've experienced in the last 15 months from some Griz fans in restaurant/bars is pretty pathetic.

So anyway, in short .. the only time I will root for the Griz is when they play Idaho/Nevada or Boise State.

I know some Griz fans can be hard to take, but every school has those. I was just saying that me personally...I root for them and so do most of my friends (but not all). Hell, my best friend is a Cat fan and we give each crap all the time.

What I don't understand is, why some Cat fans think the Griz are no longer where they used to be. A 9-4 season, co-champs of the BSC, playoffs for the 11th? straight time, picked by all the experts to be on top of the conference and near the top of 1-AA. You have to expect some growing pains from a first year coach, so last year could be their worst for quite some time. I know, the jury is still out and I'm staying hopeful.

Some Cat fans, after a couple of 7-6 seasons, following some incredibly poor seasons, are putting themselves on a pedistal as well.

I will say this, being a long term Griz fan makes it easier to root for the Cats when not playing the Griz. Because of their 16 game winning streak and the national attention the football team has gotten in the past, I have no animosity towards MSU. Wouldn't you admit that a lot Cat fans have some major bitterness towards a rival getting most of the attention for so long.

Now the Cats are on their way up, nobody can, or should deny that. But even my best friend knows they aren't quite up to where the Griz are....yet. And I hope they get up there...almost. :D

The ONE time I pulled for the cats was against McNeese in the playoffs and they lost again...I see no reason to pull for them again! :D

I pulled for the cats when they won the National Title in '85. It was good for the State and 1 AA football. It was also a fun team to watch with a few Missoula Kids helping.

Good on ya! See, you spend most of your time on the Bobcat board already so you are well on your way to becoming a Bobcat fan. Its ok, just repent and all will be forgiven. Now in all seriousness, my two favorite teams are of course the Bobcats and whoever plays the Grizzlies, but then again, I'm not a fence rider (it hurts my favorite parts too much). However, I do remain gracious in victory after the Cats win because I do know and remember the ridicule and harassment that I recieved for many (16) regrettable years. So if you see me out in celebration, I will likely buy you a beer to drown your sorrows (typical Montana thing). What can I say, I'm a nice guy.
