Bobcat Football???

Post by DaddyGriz » Wed Feb 23, 2005 2:34 pm

I have to say, I admire the fight and spirit in Cat fans. For a team that has been dominated for two decades, kitty fans are quick to talk some smack. I also had the pleasure of attending a bobcat home game last year, and it was the most embassasing thing I've ever seen. Between the 8,000 fans and the high-school style stadium, I didn't know what to think.

65-34 (All-time record vs kitties)
18-2 (Last 20 years vs kitties)
5 (NC appearances in 10yrs)/2NC
12 (straight payoff appearances,1-AA record) 18 of last 20, 1AA record
1 (Attendance in 1AA, 21,000+/game)

Bottom line: Griz= The most dominate 1AA football program over the past ten years in the nation. Cats=?????

Like every wise gentleman knows, Griz fans and students work for Cat fans and students. This gentleman very well may be unemployed. That number doesn’t seem to workout in your crude formula. Get a job. I'd hire you but we insist that you have a high school education.

Ah the new poster, comes on to the forum backed soley by history, and no facts. For one, we averaged 12000 fans a game last year, good job with stats there. This is exactly why I hate the Griz - fans that have nothing better to do than come over to our board and talk about how great the Griz program and how horrible and terrible ours is.

It's hard to be a Cat fan - but we are all dedicated and loyal. If the Griz had one 2-9 season, half you kids would go away.

It would be just fine with me if idiots like you didn't come to Bozeman and tarnish our football atmosphere. Stay home and upgrade your education by working on a degree from the University of Phoenix-Online.

I know ya'll like to come over here and talk smack. Do you need a reminder as to what level and league your "team" was in when you compiled the majority of your wins against the state's land grant institution? What was the record of the "major" conference school against your league opponents? True we were a tiny little school with hopes of one day being an NAIA power, which came true in 56. What would your record look like today playing all your games against those conference foes, as many over on your board would like to see happen again--but only in the WAC. Why not go up BIGTIME? I guess I could post in here as GSU Dad, but I went to school in Bozo. In fact, I cut the leading tackler in the game when the entire sideline I was on started chanting "safety, safety, safety" and Paul and crew thought it was a pretty good idear. Besides, I know how frustrated you have to be because I can share your pain--I'm an Atlanta Braves fan and I hate to know they're going to litter the baseball playoffs year in and year out only to somehow Fizzle...Go tell your Sugga Da Da ya'll want a stadium expansion so you can try to play with the big boys again  We just hope he hasn't had to declare bankruptcy again

Wow! Exactly what I expected. Thank you. Other than Celtic's comments on how spoiled griz fans are (which is true by the way), most of the other comments make no sense. The funniest is regarding my education and employment. I happen to be a very successful person, and ironlically my assistant (who is ten years my senior) is an MSU grad. I expected nothing less. Years of being the weakling little brother make people rationalize things in a funny manner. What ever makes it work in your heads boys. I'm sure the Griz are over-rated and you'll kick our ass next year. Ha, ha! I do respect the loyalty however. I'm a Raiders fan, so I know what it's like to be loyal to a ****** team.

I did not know your average attendance was 12k however. I'm glad to see that's coming around.

Up with Montana boys!

and oh, by the way. I've read you post three times now StateGrad, and I still can't figure out what you are saying. By Sagarin Ratings, we've had a much tougher schedule than you have since 1990, and we've dominated it. Also, how can you talk about us fizzling in the playoffs when we've played in the NC 5 of the last 10 years. What other program (at any level) has played for the title 50% of the time over the last decade. You guys have "sniffed" the playoffs twice in 18 years if my memory serves me.

What a joke!

The griz will finish in the middle of the pack this year....probably 3rd or 4th. You will be behind MSU, EWU, and possibly PSU. The Cats will beat your sorry a$$ team this year by at least two touchdowns.

I have been taking bets with friz fans about this years game for about the last month. After we win, I will take everyone on this board grocery shopping because I will have more food stamps than I know what to do with. 2% Milk for everyone!!!!!

Grad,

I just found out myself. I guess I'll have to consider Moss a former foe, now a friend. Just like Romo. Can't stand the guy though.

Still don't understand the Junior College comment. I'll chalk it up to being a frustrated cat. The cats pale in comparison to the Griz, and you know it. Enough said.

Anyway, good chatin with ya grad.

Exactly what year did you graduate from UM, and what degree did you earn?

wbtfg: What planet are you on? Better yet, what conference have you been watching for the past 20years. You're picking the Griz to finish 3rd or 4th!!!!! Every year, the Griz are the favorite to win the BSC and compete for a NC. They are the perrenial powerhouse, and you know it. That's like picking Duke to finish last in the ACC. What a joke! At least come at me with something that makes sense.

Baby Big Nose, is killing your program. You don't have a QB w/ experience, 1 receiver w/ experience, and you all are 1 torn ACL (Hilliard) from being a sub 500 team. Come and see me when the season is over next year. There is no chance that you win the conference.

wbtfg: I just realized I'm arguing with someone with no f-ball knowledge. My bad for falling into that trap. You better check the roster again junior.
You are way off. Keep dreaming or keep smoking. An oh by the way, Bobby's recruiting class was outstanding. 8-10 1A caliber players, and a number of big-time drop downs, inlcuding two more this week.... a starting tackle from Idaho and the third leading reciever from UW last year. You guys have been saying "no way the Griz win the conference again" for 10 years! We'll dominate......as always!

Again, what a joke!

Grad: I was trying to be nice, but bottom line....the cat program is a joke! JC or not, you know it

You quoted some stats earlier in this thread, I would love to hear the stats for the next few questions.....

How many yards passing do your returning quarterbacks have?

How many receptions do your returning tight ends have?

How many receptions do your retruning receivers have (excluding talmage)?

Big time drop downs?? Are they as big time as Ronnie Rodamer was last year? 8-10 I-A caliber recruits? USC might as well just give the sears trophy to you guys.

BTW: You never answered my origional question. What year did you graduate from UM, and what is your degree in?

Last I checked, no one from Idaho has yet transferred over to UM. Rumors are just that until ink is put down on paper.

It makes me laugh that you all are getting so worked up about a couple of transfers from two of the absolute worst teams in the nation. Idaho and Washington have been horrible for the last few years, and I think that a few teams in the Sky would have beat them both last year.

God, I hate the fact that my name will be associated with fools like this when I graduate...

It's so easy to look down your nose at someone you hate, isn't it Daddy. Years of worshipping the ground that 20 year old kids play football on, and you think you were somehow part of the last 20 years of Griz football greatness, so you think that gives you the right to push down anyone you want. How old are you anyway, I would hope for some more maturity later in life. If you still get your kicks off talking smack and getting people worked up, you need to grow up. I remember a lot of that kind of behavior, it was called high school.

It is precisely fans like yourself that make it impossible for me to root for the Griz. I have no problem with the institution, the football team, the tradition. I cannot stand the fans. They are the most arrogant fans in any sporting even I have ever been to. One thing the Griz do need to realize is, this isn't IA football. So you are one of the best in the 2nd notch division football. I would be happy too, but acting like Griz football is the best thing to ever happen to football is just moronic and childish. The only people who care about Griz football are Montanans and Griz alumni. It is the same with any 1AA program, that is why it is not popular.

Everyone can say the Cat fans are complete jackasses and jerks when we win, but after putting up with the Griz garbage for so long, what the hell did you expect? If you would have shown some respect over the years, we would have given it back when the tables turned.

Every year I wish for a Griz collapse, but it isn't going to happen.

Cat program is the joke Daddy? No, Griz fans are the joke.
