Ok, I didn’t know where to post this, but I know where it will head, so....

Ok he took his oath to office Tuesday, on the same bible ABRAHAM LINCOLN used.

Yesterday he re-did his entire oath. Why was this oath not performed on a bible?

I understand that is not required by the constitution, but with all the speculation about his religion..............

my thoughts are this is going to be the first of probably hundreds of insignificant happenings of our president that people, and the media, are going to try to make into issues. and while i think it's stupid, (especially since all the talk about his possible religion is from the media) it comes with the territory.

Justice Roberts flipped a couple phrases around in the inauguration. Obama repeated what Roberts said, although you could see he knew it wasn't correct. No big deal. They re-did the next day correctly so there where no questions.

well seeing as a president doesn't have to do it to begin with, i think obama did it for the exact reason we are talking about. people are actually calling out his religion, and many times his status as an american. can you imagine the uproar if he refused to do it correctly? i think it's a non-issue, and would have been whether he re-did it or not, but you can imagine the hay-day people would have with him if he didn't redo it.

Yeah...Roberts misplaced the word "faithfully," and Obama tried to prompt him to fix it. After that, they were both flustered, and it ended up garbled. Not a huge deal, but he re-took the oath to prevent some tinfoil hat-wearing crackpot from suing him six years from now, claiming that his presidency was unconstitutional because he was never properly sworn in.

I had never heard of this before, but apparently, other presidents have re-taken the oath under similar circumstances in the past.

it's all a conspiracy. Obama secretly met with Justice Roberts before the swearing-in and told him to "intentionally mess it up" so it would APPEAR that Obama knew that Roberts screwed up, and thereby require Obama to retake the oath (sans Bible) after people questioned whether the swearing-in was legal and after people questioned if Obama was really sworn-in as the President since the oath was flubbed. Since the original oath on Lincoln's Bible was not "valid", and the second oath was not taken on a Bible, he surely must not be a Christian.... Obama really is a Muslim and is holding secret meetings with Al-Qaeda terrorists as we speak. I'm sure that's the version on the Limbaugh show anyways.....

Actually I think Bush met with Roberts and told him to mess it up so some Republicans could come in later and say Obama wasn't President since he didn't do the oath right.

Well it seems that most are convinced he is Muslim... That is weird HAHA! Either there is a HUGE CONSPIRACY AND HE WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! or you morons are ignorant and should give the guy a break...
