Griz stuff at wal-mart
I dont know how many times this has been hashed out on here..........but why the holy heck do they sell griz stuff (hats, shirts, sweatshirts) at local businesses in bozeman?
I just bought a new 3 pack of bobcat t shirtsfrom wally world, and a full half of the display was griz shirts. I understand its business, and the stuff sells, but it really annoys me that that maroon crap is dispalyed just as prominent as the blue and gold of our beloved cats in the home town of the cats.
And what annoys me even more is when i see bozeman high school students wearing griz stuff.........makes me sick.
Bozeman buisness' need to start supporting the cats. Push the Cat products, put up a Go Cats sign on game day, color some windows blue and gold. Come on Bozeman, get behind your team!
Ok, ill get off my soap box now, im out of breath and tired of typing anyhow.

I just flat out hate maroon and I went to high school where our colors are maroon and gold. Every time I see that color it makes me wanna puke on it. What sucks is that it's true and it makes certain days hard to get through without regurgitation.

Family is family forever, until they become a Griz fan.

When i went to school in bozeman, if you wore any griz crap, you were gonna have it beat off of you. and that was in the '80sRobert Felix wrote:Amen brother!! 2 years ago i saw grizz crap in our walmart in Pocatello. I bought 2 hats and took them up to the cash register and asked for a pair of scisssors and cut them up in front of the cashier and told her i wanted to leave these on the managers desk. I don't know if it helped or hindered the process but i don't care to see the maroon crap unless we are playing there or them here. I feel your pain.

Since ISU's business/econ department obviously didn't prepare you to reason your way through this intellectually daunting question, I'll help you out:Bengal00 wrote:2 years ago i saw grizz crap in our walmart in Pocatello. I bought 2 hats and took them up to the cash register and asked for a pair of scisssors and cut them up in front of the cashier and told her i wanted to leave these on the managers desk. I don't know if it helped or hindered the process...
1. The reason the store sells hats is because they hope they will sell.
2. When products sell, they contribute to the store's bottom line.
3. When products don't sell, they occupy space in the store that might otherwise be occupied by products that would sell, thus deducting from the store's bottom line.
4. So, to summarize (with pictures, for those who might not "get it" otherwise)...
When products sell, Wal-Mart's management does this:

When products don't sell, they do this:

5. Thus, your purchase of two Griz hats probably made Wal-Mart's manager do this:

In fact, if every ISU fan would go to the Wal-Mart in Pocatello, buy two Griz hats, and cut them up with scissors, I'm guessing the managers of Wal-Mart would probably be just ecstatic.
6. Out of curiousity -- did you also buy the scissors that you used to cut up the hats, or did they let you borrow a pair?
7. If you had to buy the scissors, and you're trying to figure out whether the managers of the Wal-Mart would be happy or upset about the fact that you bought scissors from them, let me know...I can probably help you reason your way through that one, too.
8. GO GRIZ!!!

No really, I'm serious. Is your life so devoid of meaning that you troll through someone else's chat room just to have some dialog?
Does your Mom know? Do you need a hug or some therapy?

Re: Griz stuff at wal-mart
If other team's fans don't go to a site, there would be no need for a smack forum. It always happens on every site. Some of the most frequent posters on eGriz are Cat fans. In fact, many of them are very informed and have good input. Mslacat, hell's bells, wild_cat all are pretty well informed and they are welcome to post. You are obviosly new to the concept of message boards. If griz fans didn't post here and cat fans didn't post on eGriz, the boards wouldn't exist. Relax, that is why these boards exist.Robert Felix wrote:No really, I'm serious. Is your life so devoid of meaning that you troll through someone else's chat room just to have some dialog?

Re: Griz stuff at wal-mart
Since you're obviously new to this internet thing, I'm going to leave this alone. Hopefully one of the many Cat fans here who is a regular at eGriz will take the time to school you in the ways of college sports chat boards -- I'd do it, but they're the ones whose school is being embarassed by you at the moment, so I'll let them handle it.Robert Felix wrote:No really, I'm serious. Most of my interactions with Griz fans have been drunken, contentious and across a parking lot so civility is strange for me. No ruffled fur or feathers, I am just trying get re-connected before the seaason starts up again.
If you need any tip on how to fit in just ask Swilly, he seems right up your alley.
