Griz Coach is Next...Right?

Well, well. Seems a CURRENT Griz corner is in police custody in California. Not for drug trafficking, but MURDER.

Guess there's only one thing to do. Someone's gotta show they're going to attack the serious problems with the Griz program. Someone has to be made an example of. The fact that this player was arrested attests to the fact that the Griz program is broken and must be fixed.

Bobby...better pack yo bags.

Sadly, we can call that one murder linked to our program, and then raise them: one assistant coach selling meth, 5 (?) current and former players distributing coke, four plus straight years of academic troubles, and potentially some more assistant coach legal woes.

It's just been a rough stretch for both our schools ... but we've been hogging most of the limelight up to this point.

I would like to think that Cat fans can take the high road here considering what's happened. There have been a couple of postings on eGriz by Cat fans that flat out pissed me off. Yea, while it may be easy to want to rib the Griz right now, please remember that this morning there are young children waking up without their father.

No biggy au blue, I think most of us, Griz & Cat fans, realize the tragedy here.

There are a few Griz fans that made uncalled for statements regarding the Cats doings as well as Cat fans making the same remarks towards the Griz faithful. The ones making the uncalled for statements are far and few between. Just like the athletes in Bozeman and Missoula (lot's of great ones, few bad eggs).

Unfortunatly, it's in our state. :? The road trips should be fun this year.

Given that he killed the guy that beat the ****** out of his aunt and then urinated on her...well, can see why he'd be angry. True, guns aren't the answer as just a good ass whooping would have kept him out of jail.

There are bad apples in both programs....proves that recruiting Montana kids who handle their issues with their fists is a little safer. Some kids are just brought up that guns solve everything....

What? Do you know more about the incident?

here we go again with the broad generalizations. Montanan = good, non-Montanan = bad

Yeah ... I'm not so sure that there aren't a number of Montana kids that believe in shooting people who upset them with guns as well. It's certainly happened in Montana more times than any of us would like to remember.

I didn't mean it to divide, because yes, there are plenty of Montana kids who go bad as well. I think it is a sign of our times. For those of us with kids, it's scary as hell. I think there is going to be some serious fall out at both schools from all that has happened. Sad how a few bad apples sully the reputation of the state and ruin the life of one good man.

As for it being a sign of our times ... I'm not sure. Violent crime is way down now (about half of what it was) as compared to its high point -- the 1970s and into the 1980s.

The difference is that the world appears a lot scarier from the perspective of a parent than that of a kid (the level of awareness of a good parent is a mixed blessing).

Not to mention that the information age makes us hysterically aware of every damn thing that happens anywhere in the world that was bad. It used to be that we had some degree of shelter from the bad things of the world. Now it's all just three clicks away.

Since you have already responded, but not addressed this, I will ask in a different way.

How do you know the information regarding the assault on someone's aunt? How is it related to this alleged incident? And why did you feel compelled to share in on a message board?

Because it shows WHY he did it. No, it doesn't justify it one bit...shooting someone, but yeah, can't say that I wouldn't WANT do the same thing.

Office rumour is some Griz players got busted to in Missoula. I yi yi...

Can't we just get back to good ol fashion football and a great rivalry?

If what you say is true, then I could've figured out that it was his motive.

What I am asking, is how do you know this? And why did you feel compelled to share this information on a message board? (It is not yet public knowledge in any public/official forum that I can find)

Huh?

Are you mad at me for being regrettably critical of MSU's recent off-the-field history and implicitly standing up for UM after we moved the thread to the smack section? Are you really doing that?

Please tell me you're drunk, 'cuz the alternative isn't flattering.

The thing is, guys, this post was never intended to rib the Griz or make fun of the tragedy of someone getting murdered. Quite the contrary. It was really intended to provoke further thought and discussion about what's going on with our program. I wouldn't expect UM to follow suit. And that's precisely the point.

Besides, don't blame no 2 much...im actually his wife, and I'm kinda dumb about posting on these things. Guess I should just but out. It's just that I'm really sorry about how this whole thing's gone down. Sorry.

Great response. This is so true today.

My mother is elder and she watches to much TV. She says the world is now a scary place. I just teller, it has not changed. What has changed is our ability to transmit the news from anyplace on the earth to our living rooms.

Funny ... I get a lot of complaints by users that I am too lax on my moderation of Griz fans ... so your comment only tells me that I must be doing things about right.

We have never locked up deleted any threads that were factual in nature. Your suggestions that we are unfair to Griz fans on this board is absurd. But if you feel that way, you are more than welcome to not use our free services any longer. That's your call.
