As a Griz fan and realist (I stated the griz as 8-3 this year)- I wonder what the cat fans would think if

1- They had beat thier instate rival 17 out of 19
2- Played in every playoffs since Clinton was President
3- Played in 5 Championship games
4- Have went thru 4 coaches and still win
5- Play in the Greatest stadium in 1-AA

What gives...

I know we can be a little overBEARing- But would not you be the same if you were in our shoes???

PS Ill give you

Wow, and we were getting along so well too quast!!!

Believe me, you and your bobcat buddies would give your left nut to have the success that the UM "weakened" program had in 2004...20 wins in his 2 seasons at UM, 3 playoff wins and a National Championship appearance. Setting the bar a might high aren't you???

For all Cat fans, insert your own "trained monkey" comments here...

Dennehy was obviously in over his head, as many of us felt at the time when he was in charge at dUMb. He's proved it with his (lack of) performance in Utah and I'm sure he'll never get another Head Coaching job above the High School level again. Mick simply rode the tide started by Coach Read.

Glenn, on the other hand, actually improved things in Missoula and obviously got the Griz back on track. He proved he could win starting from scratch, he proved he could win from the pole position, and now it appears he's going to do it from scratch yet again. THAT is the sign of a good coach (even if he is a snake-oil salesman as a human being. Nice departure; way to give your players the finger on your way out, Cowboy Joe...).

Hauck could very well be EITHER of the 2 guys listed above; I contend that despite last year's success, you still can't be sure of which one. Dennehy made it to the title game, same as BH, yet I think we can all agree that MD had the Griz headed downward. I truly think the next 2 seasons will tell us all we need to know about the Brat, er, Bobby. If he wins another 18+ games with a couple more BSC titles, even I'LL admit he's a good coach. BUT, if the Griz slip, even a little, the Griz will have another Mick Dennehy on their hands and I predict the fans will be PRAYING that he gets offered a job elsewhere...

All it's going to take to get Grizzly fans chanting "OFF WITH HIS HEAD" is for Hauck to lose again the Bobcats this year. My my my will that championship title game seem like it happened 20 years ago after that.

I will tell you why griz fans piss me off so bad! because they are all tools. I grew up in the Missoula area and everybody I know is a die hard griz fan, the funny thing is, none of them went to the u of m, and 70% of these people are not even from our state. It is a band wagon thing, wheras Bobcats have always been faithful, or they choose their team because they have a mind of their own. We may be the minority in this state, but Cat fans truly are the better of the two. Go Bobcats.

The Griz fans that piss me off the most are the ones that get in your face and talk trash, and then you ask them something about the Griz and they don’t know a thing! Then you ask them something about UM and they don’t know a thing about the University! All they really know about the Griz is that they have a winning football team. They don’t know anything about the team, but they are ready to jump on the bandwagon and be obnoxious. Those are the fans that irritate me. I am not a big fan of people that try to pretend to be something they are not, and 50% of "Griz fans" are not Griz fans.

I actually do not know you, still, but I would not go around flaunting the fact that you were born in and raised in Missoula, Montana. That is one thing that you should never be proud of, hippies.

It's funny but the UM offered me a degree in English Literature.

And all I had to do was post on Bobcat Nation and egriz!

For those of you looking to add to your education resume, just e-mail the UM English Dept. and they'll mail you a diploma, provided you've had at least 250 posts responded to. I guess they figure if ANYONE can understand what you've written, you're good enough for a UM diploma (which explains why bearbac & scats STILL haven't gotten theirs!).

jag, what precisely is the Statute of Limitations on being proud of your school's heritage & its accomplishments?

I suppose since your school only has 2 accomplishments of any merit and that they both happened in the last 10 years, your answer will be 10 years?

I'm certain in 50 years, you griz fans will STILL be talking about the Golden Age of Griz football; back in the late 90's and early 2000's...
