AL West Champs!

I know there are a few long-suffering Seattle Mariners fans on BN. What a rollercoaster of a last month! From a terrible end to August and start to September, hoping to scrape together enough wins to get the last wildcard spot, to reeling off a 16-1 record in the last 17 games and have the division wrapped up with a handful of games to go, it's been fun to watch. Add in a remarkable HR season by an unremarkable, relatively unknown catcher by the name of Cal Raleigh. What a story. Hopefully they can at least win the pennant...
To give the rest of you who don't care about baseball (or the Mariners) some perspective, the last time the M's won the AL West, here is a brief timeline of Bobcat-related events:
- "The Streak" hadn't been broken
- the Red-headed Houdini Travis Lulay was playing his Senior year of HS Football in Oregon
- the gris would win their second 1-AA NC a few months later
- the name Kris Attebury didn't mean anything to Bobcat Fans (other than his immediate relatives and friends of course).
-1090 KBOZ was still broadcasting MSU Football games. "Heil Heating and Cooling Products Scoreboard" and all. Don't forget "When you're in a crunch call (dun-dun-dun-dun-dun) A&D Autobody!"
- @kmax probably had the beginning thoughts of how to host a message board dedicated to the MSU Bobcats. Or maybe it was Randy or Brad first...? (as an aside, that would be an interesting retrospective someday...)
