2017

(Calgary) Singleton started 18 games and has 123 tackles including four tackles for loss, two special-teams tackles, four sacks, 12 QB pressures, an interception, a forced fumble and four knockdowns. He was named one of the CFL’s players of the week for Week 11 after a career-high 13-tackle performance against Edmonton in the Labour Day Classic and was honoured again in Week 13 after an 11-tackle, one-sack effort against BC. In Weeks 11-13, he became the first player in CFL history to record at least 10 tackles in three consecutive games. Singleton was voted the CFL’s top player of the month for September. In Game 16, he established a new CFL record for most tackles in a season by a Canadian. In Game 17, he broke the franchise record for most tackles in a season. He started both post-season games, making five tackles and recording one knockdown in the Western Final and collecting four defensive tackles and one special-teams tackle in the Grey Cup. He was the Stamps nominee for Most Outstanding Player, Most Outstanding Defensive Player and Most Outstanding Canadian, was voted the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and was named a West Division and CFL all-star.



2016

(Calgary) Singleton played 18 games (including 10 starts at middle linebacker) and registered 65 defensive tackles including five tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, four knockdowns and nine special-teams tackles. He started the Western Final and recorded two tackles and a knockdown. He also started the Grey Cup and had nine tackles and one fumble recovery.

Alex Singleton and the Stampeders won the Grey Cup tonight by beating Ottawa.

One of the local TV stations had a segment about the Grey Cup, since of course DD is a legend here in GF. They also mentioned that Calgary QB Bo Levi Mitchell had played at EWU, but not a single word about Singleton. If he had been a former Griz player, rather than a Bobcat, I'll bet he wouldn't have been snubbed like that.
