I caught some of Steadman on The Sports Drive. He said they had insurance on it but since it was "offsite" (not at sportsplex???) it wasn't insured. One would think if you spend $XXX,XXX amount on something you'd make sure it was insured wherever it may be.

I call BS. The equipment is at the arena full time, it never leaves. So, how would he not know that, or at least see to it that it was insured?

Like I posted, each party thought the other had insurance coverage.

After listening to both parties speak on this issue and conversing with many other people in the know, I would like to just state for the record that I am completely on the side of the Metra and the county on this issue. I may have been on the side of the Outlaws before but I am retracting that. I can go into specifics if anyone would like to PM me, but let's just say you learn a lot when you get actual facts and talk to more than one person who is close to a situation.

I've always felt it was merely a way out for the owners, or more specifically the money bag Oakley sunglasses owner. With the success and support they had it makes me wonder how long before someone else steps in and starts an indoor football team in Billings. I'm sure some richy rich out there needs a hobby as well as a tax write-off. PM me Longhorn. I'd love to know what you found out.

If someone had interest in starting a new franchise in Billings, did they draw well enough to be considered for membership in the same league that Boise and Spokane play in....is that Arena-2?

I'm not sure but I think there is just the Arena League now and Spokane is a part of it, but Boise is not. A quick check of their website and that seems to be the case. Billings would not be big enough for that judging on the cities that are part of that league. However, Billings held their own in the league they were in. A small crowd was around 3,800-4,000 and a good crowd was 5000+ The first championship they won (held in Billings) had close to 9,000. The 2nd championship was moved due to the Father's day tornado.
