AL West Champs!
I know there are a few long-suffering Seattle Mariners fans on BN. What a rollercoaster of a last month! From a terrible end to August and start to September, hoping to scrape together enough wins to get the last wildcard spot, to reeling off a 16-1 record in the last 17 games and have the division wrapped up with a handful of games to go, it's been fun to watch. Add in a remarkable HR season by an unremarkable, relatively unknown catcher by the name of Cal Raleigh. What a story. Hopefully they can at least win the pennant...
To give the rest of you who don't care about baseball (or the Mariners) some perspective, the last time the M's won the AL West, here is a brief timeline of Bobcat-related events:
- "The Streak" hadn't been broken
- the Red-headed Houdini Travis Lulay was playing his Senior year of HS Football in Oregon
- the gris would win their second 1-AA NC a few months later
- the name Kris Attebury didn't mean anything to Bobcat Fans (other than his immediate relatives and friends of course).
-1090 KBOZ was still broadcasting MSU Football games. "Heil Heating and Cooling Products Scoreboard" and all. Don't forget "When you're in a crunch call (dun-dun-dun-dun-dun) A&D Autobody!"
- @kmax probably had the beginning thoughts of how to host a message board dedicated to the MSU Bobcats. Or maybe it was Randy or Brad first...? (as an aside, that would be an interesting retrospective someday...)

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Re: AL West Champs!
Amazing run by the Mariners! I'm a die-hard Mets fan (talk about a roller coaster season
) But My AL team of choice will always be the M's. My daughter is out in Seattle now and have been to a several games the last couple years when out visiting. She was able to go tot he game last night and even get down on the field after for some of the celebration. She said it was absolutely electric. Almost more excited to see a playoff run for the M's than I am my Mets at this point. I'm not sure what I'll do if somehow the Mets are able to pull their heads out and they were to actually meet in the series (no way that actually happens, so I think I'm safe
)

We missed the 20 year anniversary, maybe if we actually make it to 2029 we can have @Colter_Nuanez or @TomCat do a feature story for us.

For sure, a quarter century of dedication is nothing to sneeze at!

AND they are currently the favorite to, as Cal Raleigh would say, win the whole f&cking thing!
I took the family out there for the weekend of Ichiro....now they are all die hards as well.

And now for the dark cloud, or is it? Seen several articles that Root Sports will be shutting down at the end of the year. Final nail it the coffin, when the Seattle Kraken left?

Not leaving Seattle. They left Root Sports last season for Kraken Hockey Network. Locally that's KONG (channel 6/106).
