MT Recruits - Tier 4

Post by VimSince03 » Sat Feb 01, 2020 9:08 pm

Tier 4 - "The Safe Investments"

Prospects in this tier:

- commonly referred to as "safe investments" as they have low risk, high reward potential based off their offer/talent
- will commonly receive full-scholarship offers from all the NAIA schools in-state and several other lower division schools out-of-state
- are considered excellent NAIA players if they sign at that level
- may receive a preferred walk-on offer from Cats or Griz but not commonly both
- may only receive interest but no offer from Cats or Griz
- will 100% redshirt if they sign with Cats or Griz and will need at least three years of development prior to starting their junior years (may play ST earlier)
- may be on the roster bubble at the FCS level after their second year in the program
- will commonly redshirt if they sign with a lower level program (DII, DIII, NAIA) and will likely start within first two years
- are bordering on partial-scholarship talent but are missing a few traits (athletic ability, size, smarts, technique, etc.) that may get developed
- commonly have been selected All-State multiple years at their position(s) during high school
- will commonly get selected as starters or alternates for both the Badlands Bowl and Shrine Game (should be selected as starters)
- have potential to be a starter (FCS) at least once with a good chance of being a multi-year all-conference player at a lower level program

19.) Geno Leonard (Missoula Sentinel) - 5'11", 220 lbs. - FB/LB (University of Montana)

Favorite play: 1:00

Position fit in college: H-back/Mike Linebacker
The heartbeat of the Spartan defense in 2020, Geno is a great player to have in your program because he’s going to sell out for the team no matter what the odds are.

20.) Soren Syvrud (Missoula Sentinel) - 5'11", 185 lbs. - RB/LB (University of Montana)

Favorite play: .43

Position fit in college: Strong Safety
Soren flows to the ball well, explodes through ballcarriers upon contact, and plays a physical brand of football for his size.

21.) Jack Waddell (Laurel) - 5'11", 150 lbs. - WR/CB (Rocky Mountain College)

Favorite play: 2:11

Position fit in college: Slot Receiver/Outside Corner

Jack was one of the best playmakers in the state in 2020 as he has great instincts as a corner, is sticky in coverage, is a problem 1-on-1 as a wideout, and excels in the return game.

22.) Colter Janacaro (Missoula Big Sky) - 6'0", 205 lbs. - RB/LB (University of Montana)

Favorite play: 2:40

Position fit in college: Edge Rusher/Will Linebacker
After being sidelined for most of his junior season, Colter ran the Big Sky offense much like his brother several years ago: punishing defenders but still finding ways to make plays with his arm as a QB.

23.) Riley Waters (Sidney) - 6'0", 205 lbs. – LB

Favorite play: .43

Position fit in college: H-back/Mike or Will Linebacker
An old-school thumper from the inside linebacker spot, Riley tries to take your soul when he hits you with a stiff set of hands and pads.

24.) Tel Arthur (Frenchtown) - 6'0", 220 lbs. – HB/LB (Montana Tech)

Favorite play: 1:54

Position fit in college: H-back/Mike or Will Linebacker
Tel is another downhill linebacker with good size who brings it when he hits ballcarriers and makes plays as a ballcarrier/blocker/pass-catcher on offense.

25.) Camren Spencer (Bozeman) - 6'1", 250 lbs. - C/DL (Montana Western)

Favorite play: First Play

Position fit in college: Center/3-tech DT
Camren’s a high-effort, reliable player who has the tools to develop as an interior lineman on either side of the ball.

26.) Padraig Lang (Bozeman) - 6'0", 190 lbs. - S (University of Montana)

Favorite play: .38

Position fit in college: Wide Receiver/Free or Strong Safety/Special Teamer
Padraig is a smart defensive player who understands passing concepts pre-snap, is nearly always in good position to make a play, and brings decent physicality to his tackling.

27.) Brady Lang (Bozeman) - 5'11", 180 lbs. - S (University of Montana)

Favorite play: 1:31

Position fit in college: Free Safety/Special Teamer
Brady is a willing blocker as a receiver who also excels on defense in the same ways as his brother Padraig.

28.) Gabe Hernandez (Laurel) - 6'3", 280 lbs. - OL/DL

Favorite play: .16

Position fit in college: Interior Offensive LIneman
Gabe does an excellent job of making first contact which, mixed with his power, wins him a lot of 1-on-1’s in the run game.

29.) Levi Torgerson (Great Falls High) - 5'8", 160 lbs. - WR/CB

Favorite play:

Position fit in college: Slot Receiver/Outside Corner
Levi is a cat-quick, explosive football player who makes plays with the ball in his hands.

30.) Gabriel Delgatty (Manhattan) - 6'3", 205 lbs. - DE/LB (Montana Western)

Favorite play: .37

Position fit in college: Tight End/Edge Rusher
Gabe is a long, athletic football player who starred at defensive end and wide receiver for Class B champion Manhattan.

31.) Haiden Crews (Missoula Sentinel) - 6'3", 160 lbs. – WR

Favorite play: .21

Position fit in college: Outside Receiver
One of the many offensive weapons for Sentinel this past fall, Haiden’s body control stood out on film when making tough catches look routine.

32.) Jace Thompson (Fort Benton) - 5'10", 170 lbs. – RB (Montana Tech)

Favorite play: First Play

Position fit in college: Running Back/Nicker Corner
Jace is easily one of the best running backs in the state for the 2021 recruiting class and he’s as tough as they come (see above clip).

33.) John Brown (Bozeman) - 6'2", 260 lbs. - OL (Montana Western)

Favorite play: 1:03

Position fit in college: Offensive Guard/Right Tackle
John is a solid offensive line prospect who should be a multi-year starter at Montana Western.

34.) Johnnie McClusky (Billings Senior) - 5'10", 175 lbs. - DB (Rocky Mountain College)

Favorite play: .12

Position fit in college: Nickel Corner
Johnnie is an undersized but feisty defensive back who makes impact plays in the secondary.

35.) Duncan Richardson (Frenchtown) - 6'3", 235 lbs. - DL (Montana Tech)

Favorite play: 1:31

Position fit in college: Strong-side End/3-Tech DT
Duncan is a versatile defensive line prospect who plays aggressive (fires off the ball, beats double-teams) but smart (reads screens, plays DL with his head up).

36.) Brock Ping (Billings Central) - 5'9", 190 lbs. - RB (Chadron State)

Favorite play: 2:45

Position fit in college: Running Back
Brock is a speedy ballcarrier with good agility and quick feet who does a decent job of getting to the edge on outside runs.
