I know this will put some bad ju-ju toward the Hawks. but I'll ask anyway. Some schools have won Football and Basketball championships the same year but has anyone ever went undefeated in both ?

My Jr year in HS at CMR, we went undefeated in football, and the basketball team was amazing, but forgot how to play when it came time for state and lost both games. I cant think of any teams going undefeated in both sports in one year at any class level.

i can't think of any teams off the top of my head. i'd think the 00-02 cmr teams would be pretty close as they are always good in football and they were amazing in hoops over that stretch.

going undefeated in AA hoops is very hard though. i agree this hawks team is going to be very good but i'd bet a lot of money that they don't go 23-0 like the '03 squad did with dissly and crew.

I believe Scobey in the 95-96 season probably did. I know they won both championships but don't know if anyone beat them in basketball that year. I also believe they probably won boys track as well.

Yep, 3-peat for the year.

Not sure if they went undefeated in hoops...

I believe the 06-07 Dillon teams did so as well.

You are correct on this one! I would be willing to bet Dillon is the only team to go undefeated having the same head coach for both sports, Terry Thomas.

I think that one of those is the year they beat Frenchtown for both as well.

Dillon beat Frenchtown for football title that year and Browning for basketball title. They actually beat Frenchtown two years in a row for the state title, 2005 and 2006, then lost the championship in 2007 to Bill. Central.

Should be a good test this weekend. Bozeman is in Great Falls to take on GFH and CMR the 3 and 4 ranked teams. #2 Billings West is in town also so it should be a good barometer for the playoffs.

Here's one for you....last year CMR won state championships in football and boy's basketball, and their girl's BB team took 2nd at State. That's about as close as you can get to the trifecta of winning state titles in the three major sports, but has any team, in any enrollment classification, ever actually won state championships in all three sports during the same school year?

not bozeman. our football teams were never good enough when the boys and girls teams were pulling in hoops championships. how about west in the late 90's early 00's? seems they always had great teams in all three but i don't know if they ever all won in the same year...

ya i figured it was only a matter of time. they're still the best in the state but there was no way they had the talent to run the table.

The Eastern AA is just so tough...however,the Hawk girls are going to go undefeated...23-0...so don't feel too bad for Bozeman.
