404 yards rushing in 1 game?

Post by seacat85 » Sat Oct 09, 2010 12:43 pm

Never had a chance to watch 8-man or 6-man football much less checkout the game stats. This caught my eye though. 404 yards rushing in 1 game?! Not a team total but but 1 player! A kid from Valier did that against Big Sandy. And a kid from Big Sandy had 378 yards rushing in the same game. I know these games tend to be high scoring but are these yardage numbers that unusual?

If you haven't watched a 8 man game, and I assume a 6 man game is even more crazy, but one missed tackle can often lead to 6 points.

What is even more remarkable about that stat is both 8 and 6 man play on 80 yard fields!

It appears the 404 will be a new state record.

According to the MHSA record book...

11-man: 386 yards, Jarrett Laden, Cutbank (2000)
8-man: 348 yards, Rusy Hanson, Arlee (1998)
6-Man: 381 yards, Rhett Young, Augusta (2009)
