It isn't often that you see a high major talent decide to play in the Big Sky. But that's exactly what happened today when Derek Selvig, a very talented forward from Montana, made his college decision.....
Derek Selvig, 6-9 SR PF Glendive (Mont.) Dawson County, told us this afternoon that he has committed to Montana.
We asked Selvig why he chose Montana.
"Mainly it was because of comfort level," said Selvig. "Both my parents played there, my uncle coaches the women's team, I know all the players there and I'm comfortable with the coaches."
Selvig told us that he also considered Oregon, Arizona State and Nevada before choosing Montana.

I'm not surprised by this one, really, and I'm not too sure if there is anyone who really is. He could have gone somewhere bigger, but I bet he'll do well tomorrow.

I do not normally root for the Griz but congratulations to Tinkle and UM. I'm glad to see another Montana kid choose to stay in state. It will be great to see him and Howard go at it the next four years. Just like their moms did back in the early 80's. I know I just dated myself.

I can't see anything wrong with those dates, Pard!
