I know it’s early, and maybe this ends up looking dumb, but I feel pretty confident saying that the Griz have taken a significant step backwards from last season.

Tonight's stirring victory over a div II juggernaut should easily move them up 3-4 spots.

Their offense absolutely. Their 3-3-5 D is same old blitz all the time which works really good against 80% of teams, the other 20% will smoke them.

I think they’re worse on defense too. They don’t have a pass rusher anywhere close to O’Connell and their DL is small and lacks depth. They’re worse at corner too.

Did the gris win because they shot themselves in the foot fewer times than Ferris St did?

Certainly on the stat sheet they were not the better team?
