I think a 23 game year probably did him in. After the Cat game my wife and I observed the same thing: Schmid was surprisingly happy, even jovial, on the field shaking hands and hugging his teammates and family. It didn't look at all like a kid that just got knocked out of the playoffs at the end of a record breaking streak. It looked like a kid who was beyond relieved to be finally done.

Interesting observation. The end of three hours of Daniel Hardy and friends may have given a little boost to his relief. Good luck to Eric Schmid in his pro endeavors.
