New UM football Twitter hashtag

Post by TomCat88 » Fri Mar 25, 2022 8:37 am

#73-41-5 just came out this morning and all UM coaches seem to have united to get going viral.

Just one problem. Hashtags don’t work with hyphen or dash marks. I let coach Hauck know.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Maybe they should have gone with #ReturntothepreHauckdays. In the last 35 years he's lost as many Cat-griz games as all other gris coaches combined.

Smart bunch. Tennis spells it g-r-i-s. Now this. You’d think that they would see that the numbers don’t turn blue, like they did with the other hashtags.

Would’ve loved to have been sitting in on that meeting.

Beavis: “Hey you guys, let’s get #73-41-5 trending. Heh-heh-heh!”

Buttheads: “Uhh, huh-huh, yeah, yeah! This is gonna be cool! Huh-huh!”

LOL. UM leads 30-26 since both teams have been in the Big Sky but I'm glad that the Gris fans can feel happy about their wins while they were in what's now the Pac-12 a hundred years ago.

And MSU was NAIA in those days as well!

I wonder if this will catch as well as their other marketing catch phrase disaster: “fight on”.

I always maintain if their identity is tied up in this they should also proclaim Butte High the most dominant program in the state head to head

Just remember, they don’t care that much about the game.

And they didn't play the 2018 game on a loop in their locker room for a whole year (leading up to Bobby's 2019 pronouncement that the game means more to MSU). They're definitely not obsessed with it......

I wonder when this oft-professed "return to dominance" will occur. Results since Bobby's return:

2018
MSU -- 5-3 in Big Sky; 4th Place; Advanced to second round
UM -- 4-4 in Big Sky; 6th Place; No playoffs
MSU defeats UM in rivalry game

2019
MSU -- 6-2 in Big Sky; 3rd Place; Advanced to semifinals
UM -- 6-2 in Big Sky; 4th Place; Advanced to quarterfinals
MSU defeats UM in rivalry game

2021
MSU -- 7-1 in Big Sky; 2nd Place; Advanced to National Championship
UM -- 6-2 in Big Sky; 4th Place; Advanced to quarterfinals
UM defeats MSU in rivalry game

Their first 6 games next year feature 5 teams that had losing records this year. The back half is brutal, but they will be flying high through the first part of the season. I do expect though that South Dakota will give them a tough game in their second game.
